Frank Ocean is awesome and may never make another album at this rate. Nick Cave is also amazing, but he's prolific and tours on every album. He's doing more US dates this year than FO has done worldwide in the past 3.

nick cave is that weird goth music that the goth kids in south park listen to. or at least thats what he reminds me of. Frank Ocean or Skrill superjam. The superjams are always incredible, and are paramount to the bonnaroo experience. I dont like missing them. Frank Ocean is super talented though and its gonna be disgusting, people will probably be dry humping lol. Especially if my girl tags along, then definitely Frank. My late nights will be Frank and Die Antwoord and Kaskade.
Have seen FLips before, and would enjoy seeing them again. And I'm genuinely curious about the Skrillex superjam.
I guess this means I'm going to Bonnaroo this year though! Was initially going to pass for Tool VIP and Austin Psych Fest. But with my work screwing up my requested time off for Psych Fest, I immediately put in the request off for 'roo. And who knows, it's still looking quite possible that I make to all of Psych Fest!
Was thinking about being responsible and saving a bit of cash...but fuck that. I need some LN Darkside on the farm to melt my brain into a beautiful pile of throbbing aural bliss.
Really hoping Darkside is working on some new material. Would love to see them take full advantage of the open ended slot.

To be totally honest, I didn't realize Frank Ocean was that much of a rarity (for lack of a better word?). This tipped the scales in his favor, although I already voted for him anyways.

Juding by this post I'm assuming there's No way you are older than 15 years old

Yes, 15 and going with a bunch of other 15 year olds to bonnaroo.
I fucking hate musical elitists like you. "you dont know enough or like artists that have been around since x year so you must be a child" or "your opinions dont agree with mine so wahhh!" Nah, I listened to 3 of his songs and they were just weird. Everyone has an opinion. Let mine be, and I let yours be. I don't like Nick Cave, you may not like Die Antwoord. Oh well. So be it. I didn't know Nick Cave even existed before this lineup. He's had 15 albums apparently, but his weird gothic post punk stuff is just something I cant get into.
Also I'll be missing diarrhea planet and that sucks.
I've tried listening to Nick Cave, and I've watched some live performances...I just can't get into it at all. I really don't understand the appeal. I've heard nothing but good things about the Flaming Lips, but I'm very intrigued by the Skrillex Superjam - I like not knowing what's going to happen. I really like Channel Orange, but I haven't seen any live videos of Frank yet so idk if he'll have the energy I'm looking for in a LN set. Most likely I'll end up wandering between everything but Nick Cave if I'm solo, but if I find myself with a group I'll probably just follow the crowd on this one. It seems like I can't go wrong.
I think I'm the only person who doesn't think FLips were that good live. I saw them at All Good 2012 for the Dark Side tour and I thought they sounded okay, but overall it seemed like they were just running through the motions. Wayne was just kinda lackluster for me. I feel like I should give them a second chance, but not with all these conflicts...
I wonder who Superjam can possibly include. Is it ALL going to be dubstep garbage? Will they mix it up and get a four tet type of name involved? I suppose Boys Noize could be speculated since he's collaborated with Skrillex. Idk.
Its more intriguing to me because of the possibilities...not because of Skrillex.
E: scratch that, four tet and Boys Noize will both be at Primavera. Oh, Primavera, how you elude me...

Luckily I have seen both flaming lips and Frank ocean before. Bothe were incredible live, and I'd be a fool to pass up on them again, especially only 2 years later. However, the 1-2 punch of Nick Cave into the Darkside is just brilliant scheduling. Bummed I'll miss glitch mob, but I'll see them at Lolla most likely.

Bassbroshop's post reminded me of this: last year at Coachella Nick Cave played right before RHCP. There was a bunch of SoCal bros camped out on the rail for RHCP, wearing black flat brimmed hats, wrap around sunglasses and RHCP branded football jerseys and shit. Nick Cave came into the crowd during Stagger Lee and stood up on the rail and basically started dry humping these dudes in the face. It was great.

I have never seen the Flaming Lips live so this is an easy choice for me. I have never listened to Frank Ocean, and I have not heard much of Nick Cave. I plan on seeing Skrillex Friday, seeing as he is following Ice Cube.
I am wondering though, and maybe someone can help. I'll probably be relatively far back for Jack White. I plan to head to the main stage after either Chromeo or James Blake, whichever I decide to go see. I plan to stay the whole Jack White set, and then immediately after its over go to the which stage to watch the Flaming Lips. Question is how far up can I realistically plan to be for the Flaming Lips? I'll be with one or two other people, and we do not really fight my way up front.

I'm choosing the flaming lips because they are too epic to turn down. But if I find myself bored, or if Which is anywhere near as crowded as it was in 2010, I think I might possibly skip on over to the Skrillex superjam. The possibilities for what this may be intrigue me

You are slowly veering me away from The Flips towards Frank Ocean....

I don't think you're gonna be relatively far back for Jack White if you head over after Chromeo/James Blake. You'll have a head start on everyone seeing Cut/Copy, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and John Butler Trio, which is a considerable amount.
As for FLips..I think a lot of it is going to be luck, especially since you plan on staying for the whole JW set. Every year people skip HLs to get rail for LN tent shows, and every year people leave the HL a few songs early to get a good spot. I think your best bet would be to be on the right side of the What field when JW ends, and then hoof it (courteously, of course) on over to Which. Basically the better your spot for Jack, the worse it'll be for Which.

I didn't think a lot of people would be going to Nick just sense he doesn't have that many likes on the lineup page
Inforoo distortion principle. Some things that are really popular on inforoo have nothing going on in the larger audience of music listeners. Nick Cave and probably Darkside are examples of this. A lot of people from Inforoo will go, but there won't be a lot of people there. An extreme example would be Swans from last year. can correct me here, but I think there was 20-25 people from inforoo there which was a good sized number for the time slot. Total, there was only about 200 others there.
If people aren't going to be at DARKSIDE, they go to Zedd or Kaskade, I'm assuming?

I just got very sad. I can't imagine the Skrillex Superjam crowd if this is leads true. Jack White>Frank Ocean> Darkside will be a great Saturday. I made the rookie mistake last year of wearing myself out too early.... I missed R. Kelly and the Superjam last Saturday
I think I'm gonna have to go with Frank Ocean. Flaming Lips tour a lot and I've seen them a few times and Nick Cave is touring some too so maybe he'll swing back my way
I was leaning towards Frank Ocean, but I watched some live stuff and it's very low energy - mostly him just standing there and letting his voice do the rest. I'm sure it's a good show, but not really what I'm looking for in a LN performance.
