I've seen the Flips 9 times and 3 of them were with the new Terror stage setup. I think I'll be checking out that Skrillex Superjam.
Don't you think they will do something a little different for roo?
Lol. The guy has seen the Flaming Lips 9 times. I think you'd have to add up my top three most seen acts to reach that number. So what if they perform awesome Beatles covers? Let the man diversify his bonds.

Really? I've seen at least 5 bands over 9 times. This roo would be the 13 or 14th time seeing the avetts if I wasn't going to skip them for shovels and rope

That's cool. Well I was a broke ass college student until about two years ago. I've seen a buttload of shows, but nobody more than 4 times. Honestly, it sounds a little boring to see the same show 13 times. I realize the Avetts switch up their setlists a lot, but I would just look for other experiences after a while.

The great thing about concerts is that going to one doesn't, for the most part, impede on your ability to see another. So he could continue to see the Avetts every time they come around on tour, plus at festivals, and see plenty of other artists. And as he said, he is skipping them to see another group when there is a conflict. I however, am like you and I think the most I've seen any artist is 3 times. I'll be seeing The Head and the Heart for the 4th time at Boston Calling, but I'm skipping them at 'Roo and even at BC probably will be more focused on getting a good spot for the Decemberists, but THatH's live show doesn't quite rival the Avetts.

If anyone runs into Wayne Coyne, please tell him to stop acting like an asshole:
Kliph wasn't fired for calling Wayne out on his midlife crisis b.s. (although if anyone in that band had the nuts to bring it up to Wayne, it would be Kliph!) He was fired for taking a stand against Wayne's new buddy - the daughter of OK's tea-bagging, homophobe governor Mary Fallin - when she donned a Native headdress for a racist publicity stunt. When Kliph called her out on social media for being a shithead to the Oklahoma Native community who complained about her headdress publicity stunt, she tattled on him to Wayne. Wayne actually told Kliph he was fired for insulting Fallin publicly.
It's disappointing. He's a great artist, but the last few years have been light on creativity and high on bullshit. At some point you have to draw a line.

I completely agree, he lost me when he brought that decorated grenade in an airport or whatever. Just stupid shit for attention.

Damn, it sucks that Wayne is a huge asshole. Kinda puts a damper on their live show. And I have a shirt with his face on it! sigh. Ah well, I've seen them, had a blast and can move on. Still a pretty disappointing chain of events though.
The funny thing about this poll is the Skrillex Superjam is in last but will have the biggest crowd
If I ran Bonnaroo, I would have Skrillex hauled off stage 10 minutes into his set and replaced with Michael Gira. Men would be born that day. The morning would find no laughter. Breakfast would be whisky and eggs.
A candy-flipper, glow sticks long abandoned, would glance to the East and say "the sun quacks the dawn". The horned beast, sitting on the hilltops, would wait in confusion, finding no fear left in the hearts of men.
We don't represent the general tastes of music, 'cuz we're the weirdos listening to vinyl and choosing music because we find it intellectually interesting. I'm pretty sure that's not "typical", and we probably over-think shows.

Well today's announcement has completely changed my plan's for Saturday LN the Skrillex lineup greatly exceeded my expectations. My previous plan was to go Jack White> Flaming Lips and now I'm thinking I will go straight from the John Butler Trio to the Superjam to secure and awesome spot for the craziness.
