Damn, too bad. Was going to see Bobby Womack but now I guess I'll be missing him for Damon Albarn. Other then that I love the Cut Copy change. Tents are better shows IMO anyway.
ITM, how early are you getting to Cut/Copy? I'm in a similar boat with seeing James Blake, and am pretty much expecting to be far away coming from Chromeo.
Also, just officially bought Cut/Copy Louisville tickets for June 30. It hurt the wallet a little, but eases my Saturday pain tremendously.
Now Saturday night before Jack White is a cluster fuck times 2. Before, it was noticeably tight but now I'm thinking I have to miss Cut/Copy completely since I'd like to see the end of Lionel Richie. It makes me that more thankful I bought the tickets to see Cut/Copy in Atlanta the day before Roo starts.
Also, It's really just starting to sink in how great Friday is. Jake Bugg>Janelle Monae>Vampire Weekend>Phoenix>Kanye>Superjam>Skrillex
different tastes. friday is almost as bad as sunday IMO. theres zero I care about before 7 pm or so, and then 4 acts i want to see all conflicting.
saturday was perfect and now its decidedly less so.

I planned on catching Phosphorescent anyway so I will be getting there during that set and working my way closer. Then probably just hang the 45 minutes inbetween sets until Cut/Copy starts. I'm sure I'll find some other inforoosters under the tent in there.

the womack/albarn overlap is profoundly stupid.
See I'm passing on Albarn at Bonnaroo to see him at Governors Ball (if they ever release the schedule I'll know for sure). Right now I'm seeing Cage the Elephant during that slot. Also, I totally disagree. Sunday has nothing that blows me away, nothing. I mean I'm looking forward to the Bluegrass Superjam, Elton, Washed out, and AM but I can't say that's a strong day. I've never seen Phoenix, Kanye, Janelle, St. Paul, and Jake Bugg so Friday really impresses me.
Are you going to try and split the time between Womack or Albarn or just see a full set from one?

ill be seeing albarn at Gov ball as well, maybe at Irving Plaza as well. so ill likely catch a bit of Bobby before heading over right for the start of Damon, quite sure the pit crowd will be scarce.
i agree with you that Sunday is terrible. nae acts im truly chuffed for, would like to see Warpaint and Arctic Monkeys but they conflict. i guess i dont necessarily think Friday is weak, just not a ton that im personally looking forward to.

I would totally be at that Irving Plaza show on that Sunday but I can't justify spending $60/ticket. I bet it'll be a great show if you go. It's quite an early show to be an after show for Governors Ball haha
edit: jk just saw no tickets available but resale is ~$100/ea
If they just had Classix start at their original time on Saturday that would help with some of these changes. Isn't it unusual for tents to not start until 1:30?
sundays Gov lineup isnt that exciting to me, so i think ill duck out early for a second Albarn show. of course if its the same thing as his fest setup then ill be somewhat peeved, but its a risk ill take. a schedule would help though.

I'm on the losing end of this schedule change. I was perfectly content with Chromeo > Cut Copy (pit). I've never seen Cut Copy, they're easily my most anticipated set. They haven't played Philly in 3 years so I can't mitigate the conflict by catching them on tour.
I guess I'll be seeing Phosphorescent now, which isn't the worst thing, but I've seen them already and was really looking forward to Chromeo. Missing out on them, Lauryn Hill, and James Blake is a bummer.
Also, Cage the Elephant's crowd is going to be much larger than Damon's.

I'm really confused why they felt the need to blow the whole saturday schedule up, but I'll make it through, I'm not into a lot of the bands that they moved around, so I'll probably be relaxing on the smaller stages. Streets of Laredo and Black cadillacs here I come
2012: White Denim : SBTRKT : Superjam : Punch Bros : Feist : Radiohead
2013: The Stepkids : Dirty Projectors : HAIM : The National : Paul : Animal Collective : R.Kelly : DATSUPERJAM : Byrne & Vincent : SWANS....damn. take me back to 2013
slow clap for bonnaroo managing to make a mess out of the one perfectly scheduled day they had this year. congratulations gents, you did it.
wankers.
I exhaled out of my nose hard enough to call it a laugh after reading this.
Bobby>Damon>James>CC>Jack>Frank>Darkside was about to light my weekend on fire. Im not seeing Damon elsewhere so Im just completely losing Bobby and either Cut Copy or James Blake. Chromeo will be fun but damn I had my shit lined up.
I think if VW and Phoenix were swapped on Friday it would be my most anticipated day because Janelle > Phoenix > Kanye would be the best 6-7 hours of my year.
I feel Sunday is pretty solid in how its scheduled though. You could go Goat > Warpaint or AM > BB > Little Dragon > Elton and have 5 nice sets in a row. For most people. Im not as high on AM or Broken Bells.

Bonnaroo just posted this on Reddit about the Derek Trucks superjam:
"Got some solid updates to the Derek Trucks SuperJam to let y'all know about... Karl Denson on sax - Willie Weeks on bass - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Weeks Nigel Hall - you know him and love him. if you don't then watch this video of him jamming with Eric Krasno - Ryan Zoidis on sax and Eric Bloom on trumpet from The Shady Horns who play with Lettuce and Soulive. Shaping up amazingly. Can't wait to see it all come to life!"

Maybe it's just me but it probably would've been a lot easier and pissed a lot less people off if they would've just switched zedd and cut copy. Zedd closing which stage and cut copy late night in the other tent. Makes a lot more sense to me. Just doesn't seem very smart to blow up the Saturday schedule and change it when people probably had just gotten comfortable with it to make up for "Typhoons" time slot.
Ever stop to think about how awesome it is that Superjams even exist? Top-tier performers coming together in the wee morning hours on a farm in the middle of Tennessee in the middle of June, giving once-in-a-lifetime performances that will never happen again. It's amazing, really.

Embarrassing admission...I've NEVER been to a Superjam in my 4 previous years of going to 'roo. And it looks like the streak continues this year.

I have a bad habit of not finishing superjams.
I have seen parts of Superjams in 07, 08, 11, and all three in 13. The only one I've seen every song from is D'angelo's in 2012. As long as you're seeing something great and you're conscious enough to enjoy it, that's all that matters.

My advice...try to go to the shows you know will be tough to see again. Disclosure will be around for awhile, gonna hit the Superjam. Where can you see Seasick Steve and JPJ? Lionel Richie at sunset...book it.

I had only caught bits & pieces of a very small amount of Superjams previously, but last year's Jim James Superjam was one of the best sets of music I've ever seen.....i plan on attending all Superjams this year - every one of them sound awesome to me....although i'm interested to see the crowd at the Shrillex Superjam.....the good thing about The Other tent though, I think there will be plenty of room for people to spread out & still be able to hear, won't be able to see but there's good space around The Other tent so I hope I can at least hear....i dare say this may be the largest crowd The Other will have ever seen....hope for the best....
I haven't noticed alot of Damon Albarn talk....i guess since he's going up against Cage the Elephant....Cage has 14K scheduled & Damon ONLY 3K....i didn't listen to any Blur or Gorillaz but just started checking out his stuff....love the solo album & getting into the other two projects as well....starting to really look forward to this set....and better yet, looks like i'll be able to get a prime spot & just stay on through LR & JW....looks like a great Saturday to me.....
