I'm a fan. You'd be crazy to skip Yob on this tour, imo. A few of the best shows I've seen all year. The rest of the names are pretty easy for me to see here but it's a solid three days: Elder, Dopethrone, High On Fire, Enslaved, Eagle Twin and Amenra would be awesome.
Two names that I'm stoked to see are the Europeans that haven't toured the US: Wiegedood and my guilty pleasure, Lucifer.
Super jealous of that.
I'm "sadly" already going to Beach House on the 13th but will try to make it aleast one day to this. There's just to much good stuff going on.
Wiegedood seem to go more internationally, I've seen on their tour schedule. Maybe a US tour might be coming up spring next year?

Given our current administration, I'm not holding my breath for a band called "Crib Death" to get Visas.
E: Scratch that:
Gonna bet that TBA on the Hopscotch schedule is Wiegedood now.

This has been posted already I think but they added a few more names I think like Jamie xx, Leon Vynehall and Peggy Gou. What a dream this line up, man.
Chicago really needs to get stuff like Peggy Gou, Avalon Emerson, Daniel Avery and DJ Koze
True, they kind of lack some dance tent/stage there imo. Really wish I looked more into this cause this line up is GOOD but I've heard some stories that it's not really worth it because of the hipster/blogger/press kind of crowd it pulls but still.. Next year, maybe?
Additions to the Le Guess Who? have been announced. I personally wanna meet the curators of this festival and congratulate them.

I honestly don't know much about the last names and by extension, the whole line up actually. I wish they'd pull atleast one or two rather big names like the last few years but I guess they scrapped that to combat the kind of obnoxious party people that started going to LGW? or whatever by booking even more obscure underground world music.

I'd suggest Swamp Dogg, Yves Tumor, Seefeel, Hilary Woods, and Virginia Wing as a starting point.
Regarding the "rather big names" argument, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Neneh Cherry, Midori Takada, Seefeel, Vashti Bunyan are some of pretty big and important names in their respective genres. If you mean "more popular" by "big names", I think this is not the festival for it.

In the past they had Wilco, Sun Kil Moon, GAS, Swans Thurston Moore, Savages, Ben Frost, Mount Eerie and I'm sort of missing these kind of names in their line up. Oh, and I'm sure I'll run across some of their names like you mentioned through out this year/next year and see they performed at LGW? right after.
Yea, I saw him talking about a joke post he made (people don't know they're all jokes?) that everyone took seriously. He said there they really are playing.
