Any ideas on who the other big names are at Mad Cool? The Strokes? Hot Chip? Aphex?
Apparently involved with the festival has dropped some hints in other forums and suggested the two bigger bands left were founded in 2001 and 2007 and has confirmed that Mumford is not the 2007 band.
Name I've seen thrown out a lot is Florence and the Machine. Would work with her tour schedule but I think the only basis for her name being mentioned was that they were founded in 2007 and is playing with the National that same week.
Strokes are unlikely because they play 2 other festivals that same weekend and the Voidz play those same two festivals. With those two bands sharing a band member it's unlikely that they could work it for three festivals that weekend
I've heard Florence + The Machine aswell. Coldplay and Mumford & Sons were also two bands that I've heard floating around but I think the first one panned out and idk what happend with the second one.
Heard them as the potential 2001 act as well. Dont think they have any tour announced yet for the summer so not sure if they make sense or not.
Either the Killers or Florence would put this over the top for me, so really hoping one or both are there.
The person that had said the 2001 and 2007 had also said that the acts included a 1989 act and an act from the 60s and this was before they announced Chemical Brothers (1989) and Iggy Pop (debuted in the 60s). So
There are still a good 20-30 names to be added to Mad Cool and if last year is any indication quite a few big ones on lines 2-3.
They did say they were gonna scale it back this year for logistics
There will be one less stage and around 5k fewer people, but should still be in the same ballpark for total number of names. No guarantee this will even sell out like last year.

Arcade Fire has played 120+ shows since they released that shitty album nobody liked. They will probably power down for a little while. LCD is due for a break, too.
If the Black Keys don't come out of hibernation, Mad Cool is probably stuck with the Killers, who never take a break from mediocrity.

Unpopular opinion, but The Killers are a more overbooked/less talented, but better live band than The Black Keys. For my taste, this is already the best lineup, so anything else is just gravy.
anybody know anything about this fest? considering this over field day since they seem to never have their stuff together. Any other fests this weekend worth checking out after primavera sound?

Apparently there was an article on the festileaks website today suggesting Mad Cool was adding another day (Wednesday) with a smaller capacity (40,000). Article got taken down shortly after it was posted though. Not sure if that means that they jumped the gun and posted earlier than they were supposed to or they dropped it because the source ended up being bad
