Pukkelpop sold out 70% of their tickets without a single name being announced today, and they're proud of it on social media aswell. What a complete scheme.
This seems like an incredibly normal thing. Not sure why this bothers you.
Well, it's not normal here. Here you always announce names and then start selling tickets. Feels like they just want to cash over the FOMO of a lot people with them being the first major Belgian festival in 2 years. Screw that.

A festival selling tickets to people excited about attending their festival? How scandalous.

It's immoral but whatever, feels like the only thing you can say is ridicule my opinion. Cya.
K, Glastonbury sells out without a single name being announced. Its the most immoral thing to ever do for the last 10 years since they crossed that threshold. Either you buy tickets now or just wait. But if you think the line up isnt worth your time you could just sell your ticket ya know. I always treat that stuff like an investment. Youll be able to sell and break even.
Yeah, I gotta say I disagree with you Bing. I’d be pretty excited if thousands of people trusted my programming enough to blindly spend money with my festival
I probably would have agreed with you all if it wasn't for corona. Also, great comparison with litteraly the best festival in Europe as an example. Pukkelpop hasn't sold out a single edition since 2014 and has been struggling very hard since 2016/17 to keep their head above the water. They've upped prices with €10 aswell as an extra €10 for camping. So my feeling is that they're using the fomo and the fact that they are the very first without any restrictions festival post-corona as a way to 'sell out' without any given names (full knowing that the line-up won't be like any other years). I think that's immoral and wrong. Looking at how neighbouring festivals in the Netherlands sold out (with names), people are gonna be buying tickets no matter what if it's the single major festival of the year.
Btw selling your tickets has been made harder since it's a personal ticket (with your name, adress etc needed for it) and can only be resold via Pukkelpop itself, no second market.

Ticket exchanges should make it easier since its through official channels. And again, breaking even should be the goal of selling your ticket. Unless you have to compete against other people on the price of tickets.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

How is it immoral?
Might want to review your understanding of morality. You wanna make a pitch that it's unethical and give examples of times they acted in bad faith, I would listen to that. Business ethics is a thing.

That Hellfest lineup is literally ridiculous. I wish I liked heavier music more. As it stands - Rock Werchter 2022 has announced Metallica, Pearl Jam, Faith No More, and 21 Pilots. That's a darn good start for a great festival.
