Is it gross when festivals book Red Hot Chili Peppers? (I know many of you on here think their music is gross, but save that joke for another time). I'm not trying to play a game of whataboutism, I just want to better understand what behavior you think reaches the point of no return.
Anyways, I just got back from the Arcade Fire concert a few minutes ago. Great show. Win Butler is undeniably a shitty person. The two can coexist. I can respect people who do not want to see them right now, or ever again. Based on your past posts, it doesn't seem like you respect people who have decided to still see them. Oh well.

I think Rufus Taylor is the best choice if they were going from anyone that was at the tribute shows. The Darkness dont have any shows for next summer so that wouldnt be such a bad thing.

my thing here is, as someone who has had people close to them sexually assaulted and preyed on by men like win butler, its disappointing to see people financially supporting him. Also, fuck red hot chili peppers too, no clue why they never faced consequences. We should be ostracizing and casting out anyone who does this shit. If we can do it for brand new, we can do it for af and rhcp. I’m cool if you still listen to those bands, but monetarily supporting them is wrong imo.
bottom line is, going to shows of an abuser enables them and gives them a platform. this is why I have such a strong view on this. we will never truly stomp out rapists and toxic men until we stop giving them money. i’m not mad, i’m just disappointed.
