How is Dave Grohl winning, I don't get it (No offense Ben)
I didn't vote for him but the dude has longevity and variety. Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures, and now the Sound City stuff.....he's got a bit of a head start compared to the other names.
I fully believe Kanye will be a big legendary name for years to come. Unless we find out he was killing babies or something (watch a rumor start now that he has thought about killing babies) he's going down in music history as a titan of the industry. He still has more to do though.
Those are some good points. I guess in the traditional sense of rockstar, Grohl is the obvious choice because of the points you made. I voted Ye because he's an icon in not only music, but fashion, culture, etc. All of which contribute to being a "rockstar" imo

I think his career arc will be a lot like Michael Jackson's. He will "go crazy" at some point, because who wouldn't under similar circumstances, and die young but be immortalized.
I'm more hoping that he quits/retires from music one day (not soon...in the future) and focuses on other stuff (fashion, playwriting, movies, books, video games). Until he finally decides to make a return as an older dude who looks back and starts to play his hits again and go on tour.

It's kind of hard not to respect him when he refused to settle on being in fucking Nirvana.

I'd like a write in for Brandon Flowers..... Jk I picked Yeezus. It's crazy how many people took his use of the word rock star so literally. After the concert I heard people saying things like "He doesn't even play rock & roll or one damn instrument does he!" I just figured most people knew that calling someone a rock star a lot of times is just a figure of speech.
