You guys are going to hate me for even mentioning this, but on the last day of my externship my supervisor told me who the composer was going to be next year. This conversation occurred at like 3 or 4 am after our closing party. In short, we were all drunk and I can't for the life of me remember who he said... I do remember thinking "I need to remember that name for the boards." Obviously I'm a failure.
I am going to guess it is La Monte Young. He is the fourth of the leading American minimalist composers. The other three were the composer in residence for the first three Big Ears.
