Rounding out the Big Ears film programs for 2015, indie director Jim Jarmusch and Swans founder and leader Michael Gira have collaborated with the Criterion Film Collection in curating a program of select films, which will be screened on Sunday at Regal Entertainment Group's downtown Riviera Cineplex. Jarmusch's program is "Three in Black and White," an international triptych featuring Satayajit Ray's The Music Room, Aki Kaurismäki's La Vie de Bohéme, and Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg. Gira has selected a single film: the cult classic Eraserhead, David Lynch's groundbreaking feature film debut.

I don't think I'll have time for films. I do love the idea though.
Any hopes or predictions for the "secret shows"? I keep going back to Steve Gunn & The Black Twig Pickers. I realized the other day that's probably not gonna happen. I'm at a loss as to who they can get to collaborate.

Good luck with that hotel. They've been working on remodeling it which is good because it was a shit hole before.

If any of you are looking for something to do after Big Ears on Thursday night, this is not far from downtown. Mostly Techno, House, maybe some disco. www.facebook.com/events/1542453279377335/ I'm not sure exactly how long it will go until but I'm guessing around 2-3am.
As far as brunch, Tomato Head (I hate the redesign) or Not Watsons might be the best places. If we call ahead and/or get there early we could probably grab a table at Stock and Barrel.

I was just thinking about this this morning. Saturday has less options for actual brunch, but everywhere will be open for lunch by the time we would be getting together. We need to do a roll call to get a better idea of how many people we are talking about.

I like Swans fine, but Big Ears just feels like more of a Kronos/Nels Cline thing to me. You can see Swans the next time they come to an indoor rockin' club. Cline/Kronos might not come around again. That's just me.
