This is what I'm seeing for Outkast. They've been touring without a band or much gear, so the could definitely do a Friday night at one of the ACL's then Saturday at Freefest.

If the theories on Outkast headlining are correct though, they do have an open weekend on 10/11 based on their posted tour schedule
I don't think there were really any solid theories on Outkast headlining except that Sept 20 looked like a good date for the festival and Outkast had a gap in their schedule that weekend.
I would not be surprised if this festival went on hiatus given that it is a free festival. In fact, I'm kind of surprised it has lasted as long as it has (it was started during the recession as a way to generate good will; the state of the economy is better nowadays).
But if it is still on, Sept 27 still seems like a good bet even if that means Outkast and Lorde aren't on the lineup. I guess someone like Imagine Dragons could headline?
I'm nervous about if they're having it too. It's not completely stupid to have it elsewhere since it's been overcrowded lately, but who knows. I'm anxious for them to say *something*...

My bet right now is that it's 10/4. They just leave all the stages set up for the country fest the next day, pick up the beer cups, changes the signs. They could reuse the whole infrastructure. Outkast is still there.
Then again, the RFK parking lot would be really freaking convenient. Or they could go back to Pimlico, in which case I skip it.
Yeah, I have no idea why some people travel so far for this fest.
I've traveled down from New England the last two years because the lineups have been impressive. With Boston Calling having such a great fall lineup, if I don't get free tickets like I have in the past, I'll pass.
RFK would be awesome! would def remind me of the old HFStival days! So I know they've had a beer fest this year there and the annual Shamrock fest, and DC United but what other concerts/festivals have they been throwing there?

So it is a "free" festival, but you more than likely will pay for your tickets. The free tickets go really quick, then they have a small allotment of tickets with donations of $10, $20, $30, ect. Then they sell A LOT of tickets that cost about $50, which is still a good price and the lineup is always solid, but it's not like they're going broke. Not to mention to the amount of food/beverages they sell in the doors. They make their money for sure. But it's a great festival, I hope they have it back again this year and in the same location.
I'm actually stoked to find out it's not on Sep 20th, because I'm going to a wedding that weekend!

Virgin Used-to-be-FreeFest 2015? I'd actually be ok with a change of venue. I hope they bring it back somewhere else cause MPP was just getting to be way to packed.
