Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
You can stay up to date on the rumors and possibilities both through the firefly forums and the firefly reddit. Both have threads where they are posting and discussing the confirmations that they are getting from me. Or you can stay here and accept the fact that this is a forum with people of diverse ideas and backgrounds and aren't going to 100% love everything you love and will share their opinions on any and all topics.
I use the Firefly forum and I criticize RedFrog and their marketing team more than anyone else on their forum because it's basically a long-term investment that me and my group have made, however what I don't do is repeatedly bash the fest itself and the people that attend like so many people on Inforoo do. Maybe I'm singling you out unfairly but when you have 3 random people coming in here backing you up it's hard not to think that you're just another one of the trolls that come in this thread. (The reason I prefer Inforoo despite these trolls is because the FF forum is usually a few hours behind on any rumor and I am not a fan of the message board layout they have)
And it's not none of this is necessarily connected to your rumor, but again, when random people come in here to back up an Anonymous poster with a scoop who has in the past been one of many who troll this thread, it's hard to take it very seriously.
The snobs on here would/will have a field day if their favorite festival to bash has the Killers and KOL as 2 of their 3 headliners, and you know that.

I'm assuming you're the same Carlzner who posts on the Coachella forums?
Bruce/Hov/Radiohead/Blink is what Firefly is holding in their cards.
Springsteen - Jay-Z - Radiohead would be the biggest trifecta ever pulled off by a modern U.S. music festival, and it wouldn't even be close. Oh, and then you threw in Blink-182 for good measure. This is what you're expecting?
I'd put my money on Paul McCartney - the Killers - Kings of Leon.
It seems virtually impossible that U2 would pass over Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC but hit every other major town in the country for multi-night runs.
As fun as Jay-Z or Springsteen would be, looks like it's a near lock it's U2 right? If so, whether you like them or not, that's a major get for a fourth year festival.

U2 isn't hitting "every other major town." For instance, while they're playing Vancouver, LA, San Jose and Phoenix, they aren't hitting San Francisco, San Diego, or Seattle. Then after the west coast run they only have shows in Chicago, NYC and Boston. So in addition to Philly, Baltimore and DC, they're skipping markets like Atlanta, all of Florida, all of Texas, etc. It's not a conspicuous absence.

Here's all I'll say on the subject:
1) We're all here because we love music and the festival experience 2) As someone who has attended Firefly a lot of the criticisms are valid, but with the partnership with Golden Voice and Red Frog making a long term agreement to stick around, it's an experience that is only going to continue to improve with each passing year. Firefly without question attracts a younger crowd, but I do think Red Frog will make an effort to attract some headliners and bands that will appeal to a bit older demographic. 3) I'm still thinking of the final headliner Bruce Springsteen makes way too much sense because a) he's all of a couple hours away b) Firefly wants to put itself on the national radar for festivals c) it could be argued Bruce Springsteen is the most iconic artists from the East Coast 4) For other bands appearing you have to believe that there is going to be some overlap with Coachella, with the partnership with Golden Voice because while GV is undoubtedly helping with a lot of the behind the scenes organization, both festivals also stand to profit by being able to offer bands multiple festival dates
The bands that seem to make the most sense from the list are: -Royal Blood, Brand New, Parquet Courts are New York natives -Even though it was dismissed, Porter Robinson did have to drop out, which like Imagine Dragons and The Lumineers, usually means a rain check -Hozier and The War on Drugs are both at their peak of popularity right now -I wouldn't be surprised to see a good amount of overlap between Coachella and Firefly. Being on opposite coasts, they're not in direct completion with each other

Point taken. It just seems especially odd they're skipping Philly and DC/Baltimore - those are much bigger markets than the Bay Area, San Diego, Seattle, Atlanta, or any town in Texas. Given that people keep alluding to the third mystery headliner being surprisingly huge, I think it's at least a valid guess.

I don't know how many times I need to post this, but the mystery third headliner is McCartney. At least, that's the word on the street. I can guarantee you that it isn't U2.

There's so much that's wrong with this post.
Even if there's overlap with Coachella, it doesn't mean anything. There's going to be overlap between every festival, that's just the way it works nowadays.

It goes without saying there's going to be overlap between festivals, but my simple point is there is likely a whole lot more overlap with Coachella, than Bonnaroo for example. Golden Voice didn't partner with Firefly out of the goodness of their heart, but because it made financial sense for both parties to do so. Like everyone on the forums, we're all simply trying to make an educated guess on who we can expect to see at a given festival. Really no need to make it any more than that.

I guess I'm what you would call a lurker. I've read this board for a while, but have never posted and while there is some decent music discussion and information about camping and such, I can't help but notice that it's one of the most hateful, cynical places on earth. It's rampant with self-professed festival elitists with nothing better to do than come online and put out hateful rhetoric about why they know more and have better sources than the other guy. If I didn't know better, I'd swear we were sitting at a table of pimple-faced nerds, playing dungeons and dragons and sharing stories about the lockers we got shoved into that day. Go have a beer and get laid or something and stop taking your online persona so seriously.

Just for the record Royal Blood are not New York Natives, but nonetheless I think and hope that they'll be there. I also agree with your other points, except for Brand New, you really think so? It'd be cool, but they're so picky with festivals I feel like.

Good call on Royal Blood. I was thinking of Last Royals, who are New York natives. We peasants don't have access to insider information, so we can only speculate based upon partnerships with Golden Voice, current bands touring schedules and the type of bands that have traditionally played at Firefly.
This thread is far eclipsing the Hangout, even at Hangout's worst.
And we're only on page 11. I would like to actively participate in this thread since Firefly is always on my radar (I live in the Northeast), but this thread has already been consumed by stupid comments and people bitching about Inforoo regulars, who just so happen to be among the most well-informed when it comes to general festival knowledge and lineup rumors.

I feel for ya, I do. It looks as though you got your headliners though so no need to spend too much time in here. You'll get lost in the egg-faced alien abyss.

Ah, the age-old "people on here are nerdz who can't get the sex" routine. Original, yet classic. Good work.

I think the only issue anyone took was the perceived bashing of Firefly. We all love music here and whether it's Bonnaroo, Coachella, The Hangout, Firefly or any other festival I personally think there's plenty of good music to go around. Over the next few years I'd like to get all of them checked off the bucket list.
if you come on here for news and rumors and stuff then why shut down the rumors you are getting? No one is giving up their source to the public even if its anonymously.

This.
Firefly is strong possibility for me this summer...but this thread is terrible.
also thid thread is what 20 people out of the 80k that will attend, who cares its something to pass the work day along for most. Macca would be a huge get for this fest and likely get me back for the day again.

We didn't shoot it down, we used it in discussion for multiple pages. It just seemed a little odd when people seemed so offended that we didn't take it as 100% fact
For sake of maybe getting back on track, as I have no lineup info, Here is what I put in last years thread as my after fest commentary:
New commentary:
I will most likely not attend this year due to the fact that I probably won't get full photo access and the lineup last year wasn't really my style and I don't see this years changing much in that regard. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if the music was more to my taste, so that is the biggest takeaway-make sure you like the lineup of a fest to have a good time.
original post with a slight edit:
My thoughts:
1. Portos were very clean, just think they should have more in some different spots so you don't have to travel as far from some stages. 2. Very easy in and out (there was confusion, not traffic) 3. Don't think I've seen so few vendors at a large fest before 4. Overall volume was to soft for Lumineers set (PA) 5. If you are at the front of line in at entrance closest to main stage do you really need to sprint to get to the rail for Foo Fighters (or anyone else for that matter) when a slow walk gets you there still well ahead of anyone else? 6. Dust sucks!! I barely used my camera as a result. 7. Playing Ping Pong in VIP during sets is awesome! 8. Sunscreen should be allowed in no matter what. I had to fight my case to get my spray bottle in 9. By far the smallest amount of corn I witnessed at any fest. 10. The hubs kicked ass! 11. Several rule changes regarding media access throughout (in their defense happens almost every fest) 12. Walk off the Earth Killed it!! 13. Never had an artist encourage me to get drunk before when I was trying to make the decision.
