I am ok with Fitz, Grouplove and Bassnectar as I loved Grouplove and Fitz shows in the past. The others would be dumb moves. I felt that Cages set this year was somewhat lackluster compared to last year and felt it was because they repeated so quickly. Yeah the people that keep asking for those same tired shows are what help kill the vibe for me as well.
As far as Matt and Kim go they were atrocious!! Everything was so fake and was just done to get a reaction from the crowd. I'm sure the people up front had a blast as it looked like they did. But it was just too much shtick for me. This coming from a Twenty One Pilots fan I get it but still, there is a point of overboard and Matt and Kim hit it early and often for me.
I wasn't at FF 2014, and it was my first time seeing Cage...but I thought they were pretty impressive. One of the largest crowds of the weekend, and didn't seem like anybody was bored.
Firefly will pick bands that the majority of those who attend enjoy, and will use them over and over. I fully expect Imagine Dragons and Passion Pit to be on next years lineup.
To each his own but Passion Pit falls into the Matt & Kim bucket for me, same with MGMT. Now the difference here is I can actually listen to more Passion Pit and MGMT than Matt & Kim, just inappropriate sounds and vocals to translate live. I think this is the extent of it... and hey Fitz, Grouplove and Bassnectar are awesome to return if I had to select a top few. That 2012 rain dance show on Friday before Jack White was one for the ages, I just don't understand the people who want their entire 2016 lineup to be a combination of 2014 and 2015.
Now requests like Muse, Florence, Green Day, Eric Prydz, Mark Knight, Of Monsters and Men, Tame Impala, Hot Chip, Alt-J, Jurassic 5, Royal Blood, John Fogerty etc. are the ideas that need to be thrown out there.

I'm not saying that's what I want...just trying to prepare. Firefly likes to have repeat acts, sadly it has became part of the festival.

I knowwwww! Ugh, if only they practiced what they preached a few years ago with the no repeat jargon. I get it, booking 120 acts a year you're bound to start churning out repeats but back-to-back years is a little much, even two out of three years. Hopefully they see some of the Goldenvoice benefits this year or else it'll likely be the first year I miss. I still can't wrap my head around the guy that asked for Zedd again in 2016.... I think it's fair to look back at 2012 and 2013 acts for 2016, or other smaller acts that blow up from 2014 and 2015. I'm alluding to the boneheaded moves / waste of money for back-to-back years of White Panda, Cage, 21P.

Serious question to the FF-thread-only-posters: if you're gonna spend time on the forum, reading and posting etc., why do you confine yourself to only this thread...? Yes, this thread receives a lot of shit from other inforoosters and it is obvious why: it is very confined, and I don't really understand why some people loyally post in here but don't expand to the rest of the forum at alllllll. There's a lot of good music discussion and shit that occurs ~out there~ (i.e. in the others threads), you know. It is like signing up for an Easter egg hunt and then stationing yourself by one solitary bush, only looking for eggs in and around that one small bush, even though there are tons of other places to look around.
This question has been raised before, but I don't recall anyone ever really providing an answer to it.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Me personally, I only post in the forums of events I'm attending. For a while (i.e. early in the year) that was only Firefly, at least that I knew of definitively. That obviously changed throughout the year. I read some of the other forums occasionally, but truthfully don't have much to add. I love music but I am admittedly not as knowledgeable or passionate as many of the folks here.
Not sure if I was really who you meant, but nevertheless that's my .02.

I only really cared about this thread. Haven't been to bonnaroo although next year it might happen. All I know is I'm gonna find the golden egg here in this bush.

Originally during all the madness that was the build-up to the schedule release and debacle that ensued, this was honestly the best place for info and speculation. The only other outlets were the Firefly board itself and Reddit. Both were way less active than this thread. That's how I ended up here, and I definitely stayed mostly on this thread at first. But I eventually started poking around more and realized how much other good shit is here. I haven't participated much in other threats, mostly lurked, but I plan to change that since there are a few other festivals I've got my eye on for 2016.

The golden egg is in the Bonnaroo Headliner thread. But so is the minotaur.
I know missing Lettuce on that Saturday was for the vast majority irrelevant, but I was excited. Planned on catching them at Lockn last year, they played early in the afternoon on Thursday and we didn't make in time.

Whoops - I never responded to this and meant to.
I mean of course it is each to their own, and if you joined inforoo for the sole purpose of posting in this specific thread because you only want to discuss Firefly (just speaking to a general hypothetical example of a poster, not someone specific), I guess I get it... But I still maintain that for music lovers in general, despite which festivals they're planning to go to, there's a lot on this forum to enjoy reading and taking part in, including discussions of newly released music and live shows and what not.
For what it's worth, I think the same issue occurs in the Hangout thread - can't say I go in there very often, but it seems to be a similarly confined group of people who don't use the rest of the forum at all.

Yea I get it, I mean I do lurk/read some of the other threads but I'm not particularly active in them as far as actually posting.

The truly important question Jeremy Jamm is are hamburgers a sandwich, and how sweet do you like your tea?

Now if this is what you guys are discussing, I can def talk for hours. To me a burger is its own entity, not a sandwich. I like my tea sweet but not to the point where it's like you are dumping sugar on my tongue.

You will fit in. But a burger is a sandwich. Write it on the chalk board a 100 times.
