Even though I do not think MMJ is big enough to headline I would still take them over any of the other logical headliner options we have this year. As long as they are on the farm I don't care where they are billed.

Does anyone think that it's possible that they could give MMJ a headlining superjam set? Like a MMJ + Friends type of thing? They seem to really be putting a lot of emphasis on the superjams lately and Jim James was the person who took it to the next level. Maybe throw in some big names to play with them. John Oates, Robert Plant, Willie Nelson, other legends and newer acts who might already be at the festival? What do you think?

I think if the did a Superjam headlining set, it would be a New Basement Tapes one with Mumford, Costello, etc.
I think that's a possibility, but I don't see it happening, but I could see some members coming out for a guest spot in an MMJ show. In truth, I'm probably just trying to not get my hopes up for a New Basement Tapes show.
I'm excited for this somewhat likely MMJ show. Never have seen them, but have Jim James (railing for superjam). I wonder what the setlist would be like, and time of day...of course. Sunday headliner seems unlikely. I would love LN on a evening in which I don't care much for the headliner.

If MMJ return at worst they would pre-HL again on the What or if the 'Roo Gods blessed us another epic LN on the Which.

I'm actually really excited for the LN stuff this year.
Assuming MMJ and STS9, then mix in a couple of Panda Bear, FlyLo, Grimes, St. Vincent (but probably not) and a Superjam or two, and I'm preparing to see some sunrises.
MMJ's spot on the line up (if they're there at all) will determine if I decide to go this year. Never miss a MMJ Bonnaroo show, regardless of the headliners.
If we get a MMJ late night (a la MMJ 2008 NOT F.Lips 2014) and a Jim James featured SuperJam, I'm all in.
Is there any reason other than hopeful optimism that people believe JJ will be involved in the SuperJam again? Seems like a pretty big challenge for him to take on in the midst of rolling out a new record and touring the shit out of it. Then again, I guess this is Jim James we're talking about. The man who does not sleep.

I'm not banking on him being involved again. I would love it and they've repeated guys in the past (Questlove) but I'm thinking we'll see someone else take over this year.
Another thing going against Jim James doing another super jam is MMJ seems likely for LN Which. Super-jams are LN as well. I could see him making a special appearance in a super-jam...but not being the front-man.
If MMJ is indeed on the lineup, I hope it's just billed as MMJ LATE NIGHT BLOWOUT. They'd be my main reason for making the trip, and I'd hate to get a Roo 2011 situation on my hands. I mean the show was still great, but it was a bit of a shocker to get such a standard festival set.
I need this thread in my life so bad. This is the warm and fuzzy thread that makes me feel good about Bonnaroo after having my soul crushed in the headliner thread.

I think that my girlfriend and I are going to wait for the schedule to drop before buying any tickets. If My Morning Jacket gets a late night with no one playing behind them then we will go, if not then we'll probably just save up for One Big Holiday 2016 or something else. Just really underwhelmed by the top line this year. They'll have to really pull something out of their ass to justify the price hike.
