I heard they're playing the new Nashville riverfront amphitheater on 8/5. Can anyone confirm this?

Pretty unfortunate that the Chicago dates overlap with Bonnaroo. Would have liked to catch all three, but it looks like I'll only be able to swing the first night.
I have never seen MMJ and they are by far my #1 band to see at Roo and have been listening to them non-stop for the last couple monthes. I am trying to decide if I should see them in Cleveland June 3rd and then again at Roo or just wait until they are on the farm to pop my MMJ cherry.

Red Rocks here I come! I got this Deluxe Roll Call membership this time around.
gonna try to get the missus on board for Red Rocks. its such a great venue, and its the closes they come to us. denver is a cheap flight for us, but its all gonna depend on what we do with the kiddo.
Someone please provide me with essential MMJ shows to listen to. I'm just now getting into them. Preferably something on the YouTubes because for some reason my employer doesn't block it. Not really sure about the logic behind that.

OKONOKOS
Seriously though. Listen (or watch) that from beginning to end. In order. Great live album. It's the band with the members that are still in the group and they play a good mix of songs from their first few albums (especially when they got weird with Z). It's missing stuff off of Evil Urges and Circuital but it's a great introduction to MMJ.
Also, the live shows at the Capitol were fantastic and the Bonnaroo 2008 Late Night set was absolutely amazing with some good covers.

This isn't a bad place to start but they have some really good show downloads for sale too.

Okonokos is brilliant and gets the edge for production value. After that, I would suggest any of their Bonnaroo performances from the last decade - '03, '04, '06, '08 (not necessarily in that order). NYE '08/'09 was similarly brilliant.
I've also heard great things about the Aug. '12 Red Rocks run, the Dec. '12 Capitol Theatre run, Forecastle '12, and any of the One Big Holiday shows, though I've only heard a few songs here and there from any of those. I had to miss the Capitol Theatre run, as I was trying to save money for my move to Australia, which was just a couple weeks after that. Kicking myself for it now, of course, especially given how rarely they tour these parts.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

...can I get in on this with you? Jim would be a great excuse to make it out to Red Rocks for the first time.
I mentioned this in the Upcoming Shows thread, but MMJ at Red Rocks should become an inforoo destination event. My GF and I plan on making our first RR trip for this show, and catching Alabama Shakes on Sunday.

I've been on top of a mountain in rural Virginia for the past few days, I have only caught up in like three threads so far But yes!!! It's helpful at August is a dead zone in festival land.
