we are having a yacht rock party at my house tonight. I put on christopher cross radio on spotify and 3 of the first 4 I've seen mmj cover (ride like the wind, rocket man, all night long)
Caught Jacket last week. Raleigh was one of my favorite Jacket shows in a long time. The band played They Ran for me that night. Then they proceeded to throw down with Strangulation, Run Thru, and Cobra. Charlotte was OK with a few exceptional moments: Touch Me Pt. 1, War Begun, I Will Sing You Songs, and At Dawn (first time I've seen Jim use an electric guitar on this song).
I'm beginning to get real bored with 60-70% of Jacket's live shows. Wordless and Victory Dance are getting so fucking old. Glad they're switching out Golden, Circuital, Gideon, Anytime, Mahgeeta, Pt. 2 and OBH every other show. Still, there's so much from them I'd love to hear; feels like a waste to get Black Metal or Highly Suspicious.
I've concluded Big Decisions and Believe are awful songs. Both make me cringe as soon as they start playing them. The real standouts from Waterfall are In Its Infancy, Only Memories, and Like A River. Anything else is aiggght.

I'm into pretty much the whole album. I love the lyrics in Big Decisions and felt a connection to the first verse for sure:
Sittin round wondering just what the hell To do with your life. Only get one chance- but you seem to always think twice. And i'm getting so tired of trying to always be nice. You're sweet and sincere but so ruled by fear.
I have felt that way at times but I also like how this is like part of the breakup theme of the album with Jim not wanting to make the big decisions in life for his partner. Could be leading up to "the breakup" which seems to be an element of a few songs.

I agree that Believe is cringe-worthy, but what don't you like about Big Decisions? It's a pretty straightforward rock song, but it excels at being just that. Although, based on your standouts from the album, it seems like rock guitars aren't what you're looking for.

Not into the giant sing a long chorus and lyrical content. I enjoy lyrics that aren't easy to decipher. Perhaps I don't enjoy straight forward rock songs.
Kinda off topic but a few friends and I will be traveling up to Nashville to see them on Thursday! If any of you guys are around, find us singing every lyric possible in the lawn section!!

I caught the show in Orlando and they killed it. Slightly dissapointed we got no dodante or Run thru (which I've still never heard live in it's entirety after 4 MMJ shows), but the rest of the set was more than solid enough for that to be an afterthought.
I loved the poster but had to decline buying it because I'm out of wall space

I was there as well. I was pretty dissapointed with the setlist... Great show regardless.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
The show was beyond amazing and I had an amazing time, so WORTH IT! I just need to tell that to my feet that still hurt from going hard on concrete and to myself when I look at my credit card bill

I really like Big D. This may sound weird but it's not what he says in the song it's how he says it.

I don't think the band likes it. They're not playing it much live.
I got my first and most important class schedule and it looks like I am in for San Fran
AND I AM SO EXCITED!! I was going to message you later how I have some friends that were currently there, so my social media is full of San Fran pics. That will be us soon!

Yeah I have no idea why they're playing "Believe" so fucking much and barely any "Big D." They've opened with Believe all three times I've seen them this summer and only played Big D at one of those shows. Oh well. I imagine I'll hear almost every song I'm hoping for at the three NYC shows I'm going to

So MMJ are definitely counting down to something on Facebook. Yesterday they posted a picture with a 7, today one with a 6. My guess would be an announcement of the next album that's supposed to be coming out next year, but this seems a little early for that, right? Maybe One Big Holiday lineup? When do they normally announce that?

OBH is not happening in 2016. My guess would be announcement of the 2nd album, or announcement of NYE show at Louisville's YUM center.

Yea could be info about second album or New Year's show or some junk. Can't wait until November to see them again. Been too long since I had a full show.
