So far my "moment of the summer" has been my friend, an MMJ virgin who I dragged to see the band a few weeks ago, turning to me during "Lay Low" and yelling I GET IT!! I FINALLY GET IT!!
After the show we went back to my place and blasted MMJ bootlegs until the early hours of the morning. Damn, that was satisfying.

MMJ newbie here. Saw my second show this summer at HOF on the beach (first was roo in 2011). I think I left a peice of my face in the sand and some cream in my jeanz.
What a stellar two nights. No repeats. Not many bands like them in the world. Opening with Mageetah on the first night was a great start. Some favorites from the first night were Golden, War Begun, Bermuda Highway, and Steam Engine. Steam Engine was probably my favorite from both nights and Carl played a great sax solo on it which I thought was cool. Closing with Lay Low was suprising but unique. Night two was less danceable but still stellar. Set started out slower but they played Xmas Curtain third and I lost it. They killed Like A River. I Will Sing you Songs into Knot Comes loose was great and Phone Went West was the perfect end to their main set that night. The Encore was fucking TNT. Victory Dance, Black Metal, Anytime, and OBH. Black Metal or Xmas Curtain were my favorite from that night. Just so much fun and dancing.

Lay Low was the song I converted many of my friends with too. The dueling guitars at the end seem to have some magic in the notes.
Got a ticket for the second night of the two Beacon Theatre shows (w/ Strand of Oaks opening). I want to get some for the first night too, but the tickets sold like hot cakes and the only things left are upper balcony seats. $70 is a little pricy for that right now, but I'm still considering it. Anyone have experience seeing them from not great seats?

Beacon's a great theater. Most seats are good. I'll be going to both shows (and they are rumored to announce two more).
I got loge for first night and back section of orchestra the second. I'm pissed cuz I had center orchestra in the 7th row and Ticketmaster had some error occur when checking out and it didn't save my ticket.

I might just wait for the rumored shows to be announced. Tickets were pretty much gone right at 12. Took me 20 minutes just to get any to show up at all

I'm officially in for the show on Tuesday in Charlottesville! I was hooked after seeing Jim's solo set at Roo in 2013...and the soul superjam that year was one of the 5 best shows I have witnessed. First time though actually seeing MMJ.

YESSSSS!!! I am actually currently discussing it with my friend that I am doing the rest with. I think we're going for it. Either just Friday or both. I probably won't stick around the city for Saturday if I can't do Friday. Are you going to try?

Ugh this is tough. I really wish they'd switched around the Boston dates and the second set of NYC shows. I'll be home in MA for Thanksgiving so traveling back to NY on that Friday might be a little tough, but we'll see.. I'll probably shoot for the Saturday show, and look into Friday at a later date. Up until this year I was an MMJ virgin but I've been doing my best to amend that. So 3 out of 4 ain't bad!

That's pretty solid. Lots of stuff from the new album. I wish they would start mixing some covers into their sets, and I'm hoping for some good stuff at those Beacon shows.
so what time have they been going/playing? I just found out I have to present at a conference in chicago on the day they are playing here in phx. on the mmj website, it says 6:30, I'm assuming that is the doors. wondering how much time I will have to make it back to town for the show.

I saw Arcade Fire there from the very back of the pit and it was a great spot
we are having a yacht rock party at my house tonight. I put on christopher cross radio on spotify and 3 of the first 4 I've seen mmj cover (ride like the wind, rocket man, all night long)
