This is the most insufferable thread on here, hands down.
I wouldn't call this input to the thread, that's all I'm saying.
Still friends?
My quote was more in reference to the notion which was being expressed that shitty DJs from 15 years ago were somehow superior to shitty DJs from today. I probably should have made that more clear.
I love how when people are confronted with an opinion that doesn't validate their own feelings they immediately retreat into the "you're a troll" mantra.
I am of the opinion that most big-room EDM is repetitive, simplistic, derivative and boring. I am also of the opinion that rotating through the same group of presently popular EDM acts constitutes boring and unimaginative booking.
Happy?
What makes you a troll is that you came here to state that. Looking at just the first page of threads in this forum; I do not like The Avett Brothers, Jack White, White Denim, and a few others.. But I'm not going to go into those threads and be rude and tell them they are inferior for their subjective taste. Like whatever you want to like man; if you don't like something you don't have to drag other people down who get enjoyment out of it. Here this short video will help you tremdously:

Exactly man, no worries.
You're more prone to be jumped on as a newbie too, seeing you just joined and come and knock it is what gets you the troll title, fyi

Right, but here's the difference: this isn't a Pretty Lights thread. Or a Skrillex thread. Or a Bassnectar thread. This is, ostensibly, a catch-all thread for electronic music. I'll actually agree with you, if I wandered into a "PRETTY LIGHTS 2015" thread and was like "yo, fuck that fat idiot and his shittily cobbled together soundscapes of diminishing returns," then sure, that could possibly be considered trolling. (Though I'd counter that any thread dedicated to a single artist which doesn't allow for at least some discourse as to the potential negatives of that same artist amounts to nothing more than pointless "ZOMG he's so great" fanboy worship and is just as useless as a thread full of people complaining, but that's a whole other topic.)
However, in a thread which is apparently made for the purpose of discussing the general idea of any electronic music, which I would take to include both the merits and demerits of any particular artist. Therefore, I fail to see how stating dislike, disdain, or any general criticism of any such artist which is placed into discussion constitutes being a "troll."

You were not artist specific at all on the first post. It came off as electronic music is dumb and you people should stop discussing it

Huh? My first post in this thread was the following, from like two weeks ago:
Isn't TNGHT a "they" and not a "he?" Also they didn't "produce" Blood On The Leaves in the traditional sense, Kanye basically just used portions of TNGHT's unreleased track "R U Ready?" for the song, but close enough. I'm really just haggling over detail at this point, I'll move on.
What I Want Bonnaroo to Book: Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Caribou, Rustie, Jamie xx, Simian Mobile Disco.
What Bonnaroo Will Book: Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, Gramatik, Flying Lotus, Danny Avila.

You're ability to form a complete message board thought is well appreciated. And you piss people off. Which brings me a fundamental happiness. Also....you contradict yourself.
