discussion in this thread has me listening to some trance again. Listening to Above & Beyond's Ajunabeats Vol. 11. Having that feeling like "yes, yes, this is what I've been missing".
I get a similar feeling when I haven't listened to jazz in a while.

Listening to a few of their radio shows and live sets I have to agree that they have to be there and be a late night set. Blue Sky Action is pretty phenomenal as well, and Sun & Moon live would be enough for me in general

Well I'd love to get a jazz thread to get people listening to jazz, but I've tried in the past to start several jazz threads here and only get about two or three folks who are interested.

I would love it if some posters more jazz-savvy than I started a thread. I enjoy jazz, and I wasn't kidding when I said it influences a lot of my music, but I just feel so lost once I start getting much past the better known names.
I might not be able to contribute as much as I'd like, but I would read the hell out that thing frequently. And I promise to keep my Afro-kraut punk comments to a minimum.

Saw them at CounterPoint, easily the most anticipated and best set of the weekend for me. I don't dig their original material as much as their full sets, but sun & moon live is phenomenal. They are announcing a fall tour on Monday I believe and am pretty sure atlanta is one of those dates...I'll be there for sure.
If Skrillex didn't headline, I can't see Harris headlining.
Realistically if those 2 cant headline no one will ever be big enough to Headline. MAYBE Deadmau5 since he doesn't tour a whole lot anymore. If SHM ever came back maybe they could. Well then of course there's that group that sounds like "Raft Dunk"
skrillex played the sahara at coachella last year right? calvin harris played that main stage right before outkast and apparently had one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. I'm sure one of the people that were there can confirm this but id say calvin draws a bigger crowd than skrillex
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Calvin Harris didn't just have "one of" the largest crowds of the weekend, he had the largest crowd of the weekend, and (allegedly) the largest crowd in the history of the festival. He's bigger than Skrillex and the rest. I still don't think he'd headline, simply because I don't think any electronic act outside of Daft Punk does, but he might wind up with a late night What set. I would imagine the Which would be too small.

My main concern, if they do get Calvin, is that he will play all of his hits (aka the pop ones) and it won't be anything close to what he could put together if he did an actual proper set. I want to see him but not if that's how the set is going to go down. He's too talented to just stick to that course but from what I've seen, his festival sets are more likely to be a showcase for his pop sets and he only truly goes back to his roots when he does club shows.

Maybe if he gets 2 hrs at Roo he'll get a little more creative......idk
I dunno, I saw Calvin Harris tour on his first album and he was terrible then too. He's just a lousy performer.
I forget which Festival I streamed him from (I think it was one in Austin a month or two ago) but his transitions sounded a little choppy and what not. Great producer but not sure I'd go completely nuts over him being a headliner.
EDIT: Found a link to that set list and audio. Looking at it, it's just kind of "meh." Same stuff I'd expect to hear from Tiesto or anyone else at this point.

I guess I was wrong about Calvin's Harris's bigness, thanks all for correcting me.
I saw him at Buku a few years back and was surprised at how much fun it was, maybe because my expectations were so low.
But if he is big enough to play the What field LN, then Bonnaroo will definitely put him on the Which to make things as miserable as possible for everyone.
