This is truly just a wristlet, because I have no idea who's touring or available, but I would love to see these artists on the farm... Pretty lights, bassnectar, yellow claw, Griz, gramatik, girl talk, bluetech, caravan palace, parov stellar, draft punk, seven lions, ODESZA, feed me, and moar skrillex and stuff.
This statement alone causes my brain to snap crackle and pop.
Why.
As I've made it perfectly clear… I'm very set in my ways when it comes to electronic. I'm a nostalgia kind of gal. It's still a little strange to see DJ's being treating like rocks stars. An entourage instead of just hauling their flight cases and needles themselves.

It's me, not anyone else.
Uh. Even if it was just the DJ and his equipment, it would still be considered "touring" if they were, you know, on the road playing shows. I doubt very much Odesza (the artist mentioned above which elicited your statement) has any sort of "entourage." And back in the 90s, the biggest DJs were indeed rock stars - less so in the U.S., because electronic music didn't really catch fire here until recently (despite the short-lived "electronica" boom of the mid-90s) - but all over the world, the biggest DJs were treated like absolute massive stars. This isn't really a nostalgia thing, I don't think.
Oh no. Not at all. I don't really think of it as selling out. And there are newer things I do like.
But…..I like what I like. Fortunately enough I don't have to venture very far to get it.
And as far as the Superstar Dj of yesterday? In my experience if they were a dick they were called out on it. That's all. Not so much of an untouchable.
I still respect and love the genre enough to continue to follow it. And I don't see myself stopping.

I'll just hide in the house and techno area.
I really have no idea what you're talking about here.
Speaking of nostalgic electronic music, I just bought my ticket to BT's Electronic Opus event in Miami next March...if you haven't heard about it, and you like trance music, check it out. Www.electronicopus.com This is right up my alley, to the point I'm forgoing CounterPoint next year to go to this! I'll probably hit up a couple other shows during Miami Music Week too. Any Miami people know of a good area to look for hotels that won't cost me my firstborn, let me know.
I don't know why I didn't post this after it happened, but this week I was Kristian Nairn (the guy who plays Hodor on Game of Thrones) touring as "DJ Hodor" and the name of his tour is Rave of Thrones. Normally he brings out White Walkers and the Iron Throne during his set but there wasn't enough room on the stage at the bar I saw him at so I was kinda disappointed. I only went because I love Game of Thrones, but his set was actually really fun, it was definitely something I'd see again. I just think it'd be so funny to have Hodor dj on Thursday night or something in one of the tents and bring out everything I mentioned above.
yes to Kastle. I love that video. SO MUCH underpants.
And I'm going to go ahead and veto Diplo for a good reason. Because where's there's a Diplo….there's a good chance that a Dillon Francis is creeping around. Music aside…..this kid is self centered and borderline dangerous. The shit that he peddles isn't for me…..but that's not the point. The way he exploits his fans goes against everything electronic music has taught me.
