Saw SOPHIE at FunFunFunFest and went in completely blind having no idea who he was. Actually assumed it'd be a female. I felt like I was in an japanese anime rave club but it was pretty entertaining.
Woke up today feeling even worse.. Putting my Disclosure ticket for tonight on Stubhub and just gonna stay in.. So lame.
that's shitty dude, sorry to hear that. guess you'll be streaming jack u then? lol
lol twilight zone marathon and NyQuil. Iv gotten like 4 texts this morning asking if I was going to either Jack U or Duke Dumont tonight though haha. I'm sure both will be an awesome time.
Disclosure is playing with Rudimental in Brooklyn again tomorrow.. Maybe I'll feel better then *fingers crossed*

I honestly can not believe they didn't like Chromeo Lauchpad. They put on my favorite concert of 2014. As for that Ultra lineup. I mean nothing is overly surprising for the most part. Something about the members of SHM being on there but not together is fun though because the sets will be better now that they don't have to pander to the masses as much. I would love Maceo Plex at Roo and Fedde Le Grand because Darklight Sessions is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to on a weekly basis. BTW anyone have any good Essential Mix's I should check out? Bored here at work

They were just in a horrible mood. It could've been Radiohead on that stage and they would've hated on it. I thought Chromeo was pretty awesome. That was my fourth time seeing them. I even got to meet one of them (the heavier one I forget names) during Bassnectar. Pretty cool guy.
Check out the Caribou essential mix! It got me through work not too long ago.

I am very new to Caribou but I already love everything about him. In terms of Porter Robinson I'm not sure what to think. I first saw him when Tiesto was on the Kolidescope tour and he opened for him. Then I saw him in 2013 at the Breakaway Festival here in Columbus and he did a very Big House EDM style set and now he's come out with Worlds and did that tour and said he was tired of playing big festival jams and stuff but I swear I read just recently that he's said he's over his depression and stuff and wants to get back into the festival scene and start playing that type of music again so I'm torn between whether I'd want him or not. If we did get him I'd be very interested to see if he would play the same type of set as say a Calvin Harris (who I think is still extremely likely to be on the same bill) or if he goes to more of a Worlds type set

Music... One of few professions where you can become better at your job when you're depressed. Is it wrong that I hope somebody near to his heart hurts him deeply so he returns to his state of depression?

I think he's doing Worlds live sets at festivals. Buku and Ultra list him as a live act, I'm guessing he's just going to perform what he did on the Worlds tour, but with a few changes.

i would most certainly take this as i missed the worlds tour
Porter only does his old Electro Dj sets at his monthly nightclub residencies Other than that its all live now. He's doing his live show at Buku and Ultra festival wise so far. Personally I'd like to see this in Zedds slot on Which thursday.

Maybe this is a dumb question. But what is he doing up there that makes it "live" compared to normal DJing? Like what is he using that makes it different? I've seen the "booth" or table set up he does it through and it doesn't seem to look like he's got a lot of equipment up there.

zedd was on saturday right? but if you're referencing him being the first to play on the which on a thurs, i'm in for that

I don't think anyone who's seen the show will call it anything but a live show. The visuals combined with the music take you on a journey. It's a scripted experience but it's a ridiculously good one. (And yeah, like the other guy said, singing, drums, and mixes in samples from his other songs a lot. )

I'm all on board then. I am absolutely on board with anything outside of the stereotypical EDM House music. Although I wont lie, I kind of want to jam out to some of that EDM stuff at some point on the weekend haha

Does anyone think there is a possibility to get Jack U at Roo? I know it's not really been talked about and I believe that Spring Awakening is the same weekend again but that would be pretty freaking awesome if they would get them. Skrillex is doing solo work at Ultra so it wouldn't be anything too played out or whatever
Dillon Francis was supposed to play the Barclays arena next month but his show just got demoted to Terminal 5 (a much smaller venue) due to low sales.. That's gotta sting.

Whoever's idea it was to put Dillon Francis in Barclays in the first place is a fucking idiot.

Agreed. When he comes to town here they put him in a pretty small venue. Who are his supporting acts? What made them think that would be a good idea at all?
