I still find it hard to believe we don't get one cheese act (unless they threw Mau5 into that slot). If their is a big addition I wouldn't be surprised to see some smellyness

i'm def surprised by their overall selection. they did well though, even though i wanted some of the cheese. i'll take the mau5 nectar flume flying lotus and a variety of others

Jamie xx, MØ, Caribou, Tycho, Odesza, Rustie, SBTRKT, Gramatik, Rudimental... Might be missing one.... I'll say it now in my opinion this is the best year they have ever had for EDM

I will definitely be doing some research. Thanks for all the names. Knew some but not all
I saw him 2 Coachella's ago and the set was just awful. I've heard multiple people since talk about how excited they are to hear him. What am I missing? I'm seriously asking, did I just catch and "off night", cause it was really bad.

I saw him at Hopscotch and it was great, even with a kinda shitty crowd.

imo, this is absolutely the best year for electronic in Bonnaroo other than possibly 2010 when they had that dedicated lunar stage that annoyed everyone (but had some cool acts).
fly-lo, flume, tycho, odesza, MØ, rustie, jamie xx, sbtrkt, and CARIBOU (i've loved dan snaith since the manitoba days; this will probably be one of my top 3 acts to see). i'll be getting down!
I am not to happy with the EDM so far. Seen Bassnectar twice and never happy with it. I find Deadmau5 extremely boring (though never seen live so I will). All the rest I feel is more experimental or minimal and I just can't get into it. I am looking forward to Rudimental though.

Weekend 1 or Weekend 2? Because I saw him W1 and it was incredible.

Weekend 2
The set was like rare groove but there was no groove it wasn't mixed well, the flow was way off. We just came off a really solid tech house set into it and I was ready to dance and it really killed my vibe. The whole crowd sort of just stood there scratching their head waiting for the music to do something. I'm down for a good rare groove set, the tracks were just miss after miss though.

Really weird. I would compare his W1 set to his Boiler Room or Essential Mix sets. Definitely not like what you're describing.
Ok I stopped being lazy and used the ole google machine to find a you tube of a set.
I get it, this set's really good, pretty eclectic and rather inventive programming. The set at coachella was just really poorly programmed, and I didn't know what to wait for / listen for.
no way, he would've been on the original since he's on other festivals already. NO!
I'm just messing with you since you said you wanted cheese, don't worry no Aoki in sight.
thank god, wouldn't mind just one little piece of cheese added later. A/B, alesso, whatever. not expecting, but wouldn't be surprised at something like that in the addition

I agree with your original point though, a little cheese is good for a lineup. There's definitely something to be said for going to a set with your friends and knowing almost every song the DJ plays, it's fun to singalong to the radio bullshit sometimes.
