yea i don't think it'd be an awful thing if run the jewels doesn't get late night, but would be awesome late night. but could mitigate some conflicts. i just don't know where they will put everybody, but it'll suck more than likely
Forgot about SBTRKT too..Damn.. It would be a crime if he was mid afternoon again. This year is going to be painful haha.
they owe him late night, hell they need to put one of these acts on thursday right? tycho? idk how big he is, but he's awesome. seems like he's been around a while though
Jamie xx doesn't really need a late night, honestly. He doesn't tour with much of a production, though I've only seen him in places which wouldn't lend themselves to such a thing. He could easily play around dusk in one of the tents and it would be fine, like James Blake last year. Same with SBTRKT. Flying Lotus has to be a lock for a late night, and while I would hope that Caribou is as well, I could see them in the Cut Copy slot.

Tycho and Rustie could do Thursday.
Just those two would make for an amazing Thursday night

My money is on Odesza for Thursday. MØ could be daytime and it wouldnt really hurt either.

Why do people keep talking about MØ in the EDM thread?

Some people don't see EDM as a genre defined exclusively as a DJ with a beatpad as you do. Grimes was talked about in this thread at legnth in the past who is pretty similar to MØ.

One addition (that may be a little more realistic) that I would love to see is Saint Pepsi (now goes by Skylar Spence). Doubt we see an EDM addition due to their already being quite a few acts labeled as EDM but he would be a fun act too play a tent!

Your avatar made me laugh out loud
I can only hope that one day, I will be that quacked up.

Right, and it was stupid to talk about Grimes in this thread, because she's an electropop singer, much like MØ.
I don't even really see EDM as a genre, because it's basically just a stupid and simple catchall for lazy people to lump in any sort of electronic noises they wish, but insofar as I would define it, I certainly wouldn't lump artists who are primarily known for singing over electronic beats in with it. Otherwise, pretty much every modern popstar today could be discussed in here, which hey, I guess.
Was it you who also saw him at breakaway festival? That's the poorly ran festival I was referring to.
nope, must've been somebody else. i saw him at tomorrowworld and summer set in WI in the past 5 months
I saw him at Breakaway. I'm curious as to why it's the worst run festival ever. I don't disagree or anything I just wanted to know others opinions of that "festival" hahaha

Why do you come into a thread titled "Electronic Dance Music 2015 Wishlist" then?
edit: Don't want to sound like a jerk, honest question.

Exactly, it's a catchall. I don't know about you, but Id prefer if the forum wasn't clogged with separate threads for electro pop, synth pop, indietronica, ambient, drum and bass, techno, future pop, trip hop, downtempo, acid house, dubstep, house, progressive house, broken beat, ect, ect, ect. The catchall works much better.

The biggest reason is that when we got there we were told our tickets weren't scanning and we were accused of making copies. We were forced to buy new tickets to get in (so we really paid roughly $120).
There a a ton of other small things that pi$$ed me off (talking about HUGE headliners for this year when we all damn well know they had no idea who was going to play). Speak of the devil, they just posted on facebook about this dumpster fire. I still will without a doubt be their this year haha. It's too close to pass up.

Okay...so you'd basically prefer it if there were what, three whole threads on this board? "ROCK THREAD" "EDM THREAD" "HIP HOP THREAD."
I think separating out stuff like house, techno, trance, etc. is silly, but stuff like electro pop really isn't the same.

Well we have different views, and you care a little too much. If somebody wants to talk about modern pop stars in this thread (which does fit the "EDM" catchall), they can go for it. I wouldn't really be bothered or care about people talking about Beyonce in here.

It's not even that I care, it's more that I was perplexed.
If you need me, I'll be posting about the War on Drugs, Pallbearer, Mumford & Sons, Slayer, and Billy Joel in the "Rock" thread.

Haha, I'm not sure which of the 2 you went to but I was at the Columbus one, and I enjoyed it and was surprised at the acts they did get for it but the tent they put everyone else into was less than impressive (they use that tent for like VIP and stuff for the Crew games and it's not really set up for those types of things. And I get the idea of the soccer field being in the middle uncovered but it made it kind of a clusterquack. And I agree. If you knew more details in regards to acts and if it's the same venue you would announce them already or at least a date. I won tickets through the local magazine on Twitter so I can't complain too much but I will most certainly go again for sure as it's like 10 minutes from my place and walking distance from my girlfriends apartment.

I was in the tent early but eventually it became unbearable (like you said, it wasn't a tent meant to hold that kind of crowd). Also, it was hard to get THAT hyped when you looked around and saw only 1/3 of the field filled with people. The dispatch said they didn't even sell 10,000 tickets. To put that into perspective, RotR sold 100,000+.

I could tell they didn't do too much ticket sales wise. I don't know where they would have it this year (the LC maybe? with the festival set up perhaps) but I can see why Bassnecter and Empire of the Sun wouldn't draw in more than that. Not to mention you need to be having that sometime earlier in the year. The fall on a Game Day in Columbus is the absolute worst time to have a festival of any sort. Rock on the Range is so unique because it's the only one of it's kind really so I feel like that's unfair to put up against but they are both in the same stadium and naturally they would be compared. The venue will be a big thing for this year. Just don't know where they could possibly put it otherwise.
I may be the only one in this but I would love if Roo would get a hard dance dj. Someone like Code Black or Noizecontrollers. I have been to quite a few big raves and have never seen a show like what Q-Dance puts on. The raw energy of everyone when the beat is pounding at 150+bpms. I know it probably won't happen for a while since hardstyle is just now picking up in the states. I have never seen someone at a hard dance rave without the biggest smile on their faces.
I listened to Jamie XX and Rudimental for the first time last night, I'm glad I gave them a chance because now they're both on my "Artists I'll consider seeing" list. Does anybody have a good video that shows what Jamie XX sounds like live?
