They were scheduled to be there, but had to cancel due to travel delays. Ended up getting to see Hannibal Burress who filled in for them.
They were there last year. I think they only did their set on Sunday. I went to go see them instead of the possibility of getting front row for Arctic Monkeys and I am regretting that decision. They were on stage for about 10-15 minutes and what they did on stage was atrocious compared to their show.
I am really hoping for some Louis CK, Patton Oswalt in the comedy theater and Doug Benson in the cinema tent. These would be the only comedy acts that I would miss bands for if the timing is right.

I saw Dave Chappelle a few weeks ago in Louisville and he still has it, even after seeing him once I still hope he's the comedy headliner this year. Although, at the show there was a very VERY strict no cellphone or picture policy that obviously wouldn't translate well at a festival setting but I'm not sure how that would affect him being booked.
Just quickly scanned this thread but... I think we're due for another Aziz appearance this year. He is my favorite bonnaroo comedian because he usually attends the festival even if he doesn't perform. He knows how to tell bonnaroo jokes without forcing it like some other comedians. I'd also love to see John Mulaney. I haven't seen his new show but I really like his standup. Obviously Louis CK would be great too. Even as a uber liberal, I fucking hate Bill Maher. That smug, arrogant piece of shit better not be at bonnaroo or I'll have to wait hours to get a good spot for his show just to sit there silently giving him the finger the whole time. Also, I know it's not necessarily "comedy" and might belong in the movie theater, but Neil Degrasse Tyson is doing a tour right now and my little brother is going to see him. I think he'd be a hit at bonnaroo

My god, I just cracked up picturing you angrily sitting in line by yourself to get the ticket and then going to the show and holding up your middle finger in the front row with just a slight frown on your face the whole time and just telling him fuck off at the end of his set

I think this is a great idea. Never thought of something like that.
Does Lena Dunham do standup? If so, I wonder if she would be coming with Bleachers?
I have to admit - after four years of Bonnaroo, I still haven't made my way to the comedy tent for a live act. I only did the movie tent for The National last year. I'm more of a music lover. I wouldn't mind seeing her, though.
Really hoping for Kurt Meztger. Also, one thing that I kind of expect them to do this year is "Comedy Underground with Dave Attell" It could fill a decent size time slot because it's three comedians each show and it'd be quite cheap considering the number of comedians that you'd have perform because they're usually smaller named comedians. Or, if they didn't want to book a bunch of small names just for Comedy Underground, I'm sure many of the comedians already performing solo would be happy to do a short set for Comedy Underground (for a little extra $$$) Just an idea that I think has a good chance of happening
No reason why Trailer Park Boys can't do Bonnaroo. Perfect setting for them, stoner comedy, have played Canadian festivals before. I'd miss music for their line.
Listening to the Grantland podcast The Moment and Amy Schumer is telling a very short story about being at Bonnaroo and meeting Margaret Cho while she was on mushrooms. I love her espn.go.com/espnradio/grantland/player?id=12193423
How do you go about getting into the standup gigs anyways? Lineup and first come first in or what?
Last year, they'd start to hand out tickets 2 hours (I believe) prior to the show. You might have to wait in a line for the ticket, or you might be able to walk up. Depends on demand. After you have your ticket, you can either hop in the line to get in or go enjoy a show or two. With that ticket, you could show up right before the show starts and theoretically still get in, but you might not have the best seat. Honestly though, not really a bad seat in there since it's a round tent.

They give out tickets to a show once the show before it started.
To clarify, here's an example: say the schedule was Sarah Silverman (4:00-5:00) -> Dave Chappelle (6:00-7:00) They would start giving out tickets to Chappelle at 4:00. BUT, to guarantee that you get a ticket to Chappelle, you would have to show up long before 4:00 and wait in line until they started giving out those tickets.
(It's like stores do on Black Friday, the doors may open at 12:00, but there's a line to get in long before 12:00 and if you show up late, they will be all out the item you wanted.)
Anyway, once you get the ticket, you then come back later and wait in line again to get into the comedy tent once Sarah Silverman's show ends and they start letting people in for Chappelle's show, the earlier you get there, the better the spot you get.
feel free to correct if I'm wrong or clarify if I was confusing

^ Explanation of why I have never seen a comedy act at Roo. I was really fucking upset that Bridget Everett was in there and not a music tent.
She was crazy! Ended up seeing her last year. There was no line when I saw her, with Hannibal Burress (filling in for Broad City), literally just walked right in and watched. She...put on a show, that's for sure

GOD DAMN IT. We walked up during one of her sets to find out about getting tickets for a later set and were turned away with an explanation of how Comedy Tent ticketing works.
I lucked out. I walked up right as they were letting people in. Since it wasn't full, they just let us in. Sorry you missed her

Yeah, my description of it may have sounded a bit negative, that's because I hate the process because of how much time it takes. Consequently, I have never seen a comedy act either.
Louis CK would be mind blowing. Doug Stanhope would be rad Nikki Payne would make me squirt beer out my nose
I don't see Stanhope doing Bonnaroo. You can email him. Last year he responded to me about it. He's my favorite though. Louis CK is at the top of everyones list im sure.
