Tonight the episode @midnight is the one with Natasha Leggero and Jeff Ross. I've never seen the show, so tonight I guess is the best time to check it out.
Wondering who we should invite to brunch, Hardwick or Funches? Hardwick is in recovery but has been for years. Vieux he's dating a freakin heiress now! Lydia Hearst
Funches, just him talking would put me a a good mood.
Invited via twitter yesterday. I think we need to start the Funches for Brunches campaign.

Im stoked about Ron Funches, Jefferey Ross and Ralphie May. I just wish Comedy was easier than the Clusterfuck they have going on now. Does VIP get you anything worth while at Comedy?

I think the preferred seating in the front is reserved for vip and super vip.

Ralph's may in 2011 had me dying during the 420 comedy blaze with the workaholics and cheech

Yup. You still have to get a ticket, but after that you can enter through the side entrance. Much much shorter line there, making it real easy to get front row.

So you show up like normal for the ticket but then have a separate entrance for VIP. So the wait is shorter or can you go somewhere and then show up closer to show time and hop in VIP line? Just curious

You got it! Same line for tickets, different shorter line for entrance.
I tweeted at Donald Glover last night and asked if he'd be performing an impromptu comedy set since he'll be there as Childish Gambino.. He didn't respond so I'd say it's safe to say he's too busy writing jokes.
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!
Not a very strong comedy line up. I don't think Chris Hardwick is nearly as funny or popular as Daniel Tosh, Hannibal Buress, Aziz Ansari, Jimmy Fallon, or Conan O'Brien. Too many repeats in this line up as well. Natasha Leggero, Ron Funches, and Moshe Kasher are the stand outs.

Also, I believe they have certain sections blocked off just for VIP wristbands. Like the front sections of the bleacher setup thing.
I don't think people saying that comedy lineup is weak realize how deep this comedy lineup is. Even though there isn't one huge comedy name, there's literally a dozen second tier people that are hilarious. Hardwick, Ross, Watts, May, Thune, and Leggero are pretty much household names with hour long specials. Funches, Kasher, Shaffir, Braunholer, and Oakerson are all emerging comedians with good material out there.
What I'm really hoping for is that they'll be recording @midnight, at the farm. Plenty of the lineup has already been on that show (like most of it), and it's a lot of fun. Or, conversely, maybe they'll shoot "This Is Not Happening", a comedy show that features comedians telling real-life stories that's hosted by Ari Shaffir. Here are some sets from that:
There's always at least one comedian I want to see, but the way to get into a show is a complete mystery for me so I've never been able to manage it.
2 hours before show time they begin handing out tickets for that show. You get in line to get tickets in those barricades in front of the comedy theater.
You get your ticket then come back for the actual show to get in line to get in the show. Hand them your ticket as you go in.
Its a timesink for sure, especially for the bigger names, which requires getting in line to get the ticket pretty early.

Thanks for the info. The Shaffir/Soder/Oakerson show is my first choice. How much earlier than the start of the 2 hour ticket handout period would you recommend getting in line?
Thanks for the explanation. What's the process for VIP?
I believe (but always talk to someone at the comedy tent first......some of the volunteers who hand out cards don't know SHIT so take your advice from someone working there who seems to know what they're doing) that you still have to wait to pick up a comedy tent pass BUT the positive is that they have VIP sections inside the tent that are roped off only for VIP wristband holders. So you don't need to wait in line after getting a pass to get a good seat. You can just walk in a minute before the show starts and you should be able to grab a good seat in the VIP section.

Definitely don't rely on my opinion, but if the name isn't that big I think 15-30 minutes before you should be fine. Probably not even that long. The thing is none of the names are super huge this year so I'm hoping none of the comedy shows will be that tough to get into.
EDIT: You can also catch a show at This tent and have a pretty good view of the line for comedy tickets from the tent. If the line is starting to stretch way outside the barricades you might be in trouble.

Like ITT said, exact same process for getting a ticket. But after you get a ticket you enter in a special line which is on the side of the comedy tent, closer to the This portalets. The line is literally like a dozen people as opposed to a thousand in the regular line. I honestly don't know about the roped off VIP section because I always went straight for the front rows coming in through this VIP line.

Me and My buddy want to see Reggie Watts sooooooo bad. We practically prayed for him and now I'm worried about getting into the comedy tent. We probably want to catch his early afternoon set. Does anyone have an idea on how hard it would be to get into this one?

I'd get in line minimum three hours before a Reggie Watts show. So if the set was 3pm, and tickets are handed out two hours before, I'd check the area no later than 12 noon.
