There’s no reason for him to still be there by the end of the week. If the USSF is somehow content with what just happened, then the sport as a whole in this country is a lost cause.
0% chance. Gulati should resign as well. Any of our players that are over 30 should retire. We have a lot of promising young players playing outside of the MLS who have been ignored. Give the team to them. Literally nothing left to lose now.

This is bigger than Arena (who absolutely will go, he was a caretaker and everyone knows it). Gulati has to go too. In other countries, the head of the soccer association would have already resigned. Read Sunil's answer on whether changes to US Soccer are needed. "two inches on Dempsey's shot and we don't need changes or we do?" Reality is that, two inches on Dempsey's shot wouldn't have been enough to go in would have masked the overhaul needed.
I get that it's on the players chiefly - we don't have enough good ones, and the ones who did show up didn't play with passion last night and too often in the Hex. But they also weren't put in the best position. Cameron on the bench for 180 minutes while Gonzalez was at CB is a prime example. How many caps does Julian Green have since his goal in the Round of 16 vs. Belgium four years ago? Fabian Johnson, John Brooks...the list goes on and on.
Looks like I'm on the Iceland bandwagon for the next 10 months.

If I'm making changes I clean house in USSF.
I bring JK back as Head of Youth Dev. He wasn't right to be our long-term head coach but he absolutely deserves a spot working with the amazing youth talent he played a huge role in bringing and developing.
I drop the entire senior team aside from Pulisic and Yedlin. I promote our U 17 team.
And for a new head coach? I don't even think it matters. We need to rebuild and we need someone who understands the problem with the sport in America.

I agree with most of this but U17? lol Most of those kids haven't played any professional minutes at all. That said there's a ton of kids from 18-23 that deserve call ups, playing lots of minutes for teams that are WAY better than any MLS teams.

I'm fairly sure basically nothing is going to happen with U.S. Soccer, and I'm fine with that. Let's stop kidding ourselves that the USMNT (And soon the USWNT) are going to be relevant on the world stage. We play with the naivete of a baby nation. We can't win on the road in Honduras, Costa Rica, Trinidad, Panama - wherever. I don't care if it's hot, a nation that has poured billions into their soccer program as the USA has should win almost all those games by just showing up. Mexico does. Costa Rica wins on US Soil. Why can't we?
That being said, promoting the U17 team is asinine. We have this current opportunity to plan for the future and stop relying on aging and generally awful players.

Who are you referring to? Weston McKinnie and Haji Wright at Schalke?

If I'm calling my next team, I'm calling up (if fit) (4-2-3-1)
GKs: Jesse Gonzalez, Bill Hamid, Sean Johnson FBs: Deandre Yedlin, Jorge Villafana, Timmy Chandler, Greg Garza CBs: John Brooks, Matt Miazga, Cameron Carter Vickers, Tim Ream Mids: Christian Pulisic, Paul Arriola, Kellyn Acosta, Fabian Johnson, Weston McKinnie, Lynden Gooch, Kenny Saief, Cristian Roldan, Jonathan Gonzalez FWs: Bobby Wood, Jordan Morris, Jozy Altidore

Those are two. Jonathon Gonzalez is 18 and starts for the best team in Mexico. Matt Miazga has been starting on one of the best Dutch teams, on loan from Chelsea. Cameron Carter-Vickers has been playing well on loan from Tottenham. Ethan Hovrath is the starting GK at the best Belgian club. Emerson Hyndman has been hurt but he looked like Rangers best player for most of last year. Lynden Gooch was starting for Sunderland before he got hurt. There's tons of good youth in MLS too, since they can't go abroad before they're 18.
Those are our best prospects imo. Another worrying thing is that many of these dudes could commit to other countries which may have gotten a lot more appealing with us not even making the world cup.

Ha, great minds, I'd be calling up (if fit) all those players except Horvath and Hyndman. Tho I've never seen Horvath
The problem is, the USA is gonna want to win the Gold Cup in 2019, so they're not gonna be able to deal with the bad results like the ones Germany was getting in the early 2000s as they were building into the best in the World (Not saying we could do that, but it takes dedication on the federation's part)

Our senior team (with the few expections) does not deserve to ever touch a pitch with a NT kit on again. What does that leave us with?
I'm admittedly ignorant regarding American youth teams. I do know our U23 team failed to qualify for the Olympics, and has better pretty poor for a while now. We have a few years to develop. There will certainly be players at all levels that will earn a spot before then. But yes, my immediate reaction would be to basically drop any senior player and let the youth start getting minutes. They are the ones that will be entering their prime years come 2022 (hopefully).
From my very fast glance at the U17 roster it looks like there are a couple players from abroad. That isn't to say they are getting any senior minutes there, or that they WILL be getting those minutes, but I'd take a young kid training in Europe over our senior players that have spent their careers reveling in the mediocrity of MLS.

This is the real reason to start capping our promising youth.

Could just be a threat. I didn't know they'd had minor league teams before. An MLS team in Austin would make a decent amount of sense to me, otherwise.
So pissed about the Crew. I don’t even follow MLS (much prefer PL) but I go to at least a couple games a season. The stadium isn’t even that bad just an undesirable location. Such bullshit.
