You don't think Gregg Allman is a lock? What is or what was the Allman's role in this thing?...just the main attraction, or something on the production side?
They do have a peach in the new cover photo on the FB page.
The Peach imagery is festival branding though, and having Warren and Derek at Wanee qualifies the fest to use the peach. I'm sure Jaimoe will have his jazz band at Wanee, because what else is he doing?

The on sale date for the tickets was advertised by the ABB page too. I'd love for them to just be done with touring and reunite for a few of these annual gigs but with such a big deal made about the final Beacon show I don't know that that is likely.

Also, that Grateful Music article said Warren would likely be one of the guitarist for a Dead reunion. Don't know if that all pans out when they will begin doing shows. Suwanee would be the best place to catch them for me, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I wonder if the park is big enough to handle The Dead as a Wanee headliner. It seems it's close to it's limits with ABB.
They have played SOSMP before as The Other Ones. That was about 15 years ago.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't expect them at Wanee but I'd love it. They did have Furthur a couple of years ago. The reunion would bring out a lot more fans of course. I'm guessing the Dead would be at Lockn, All Good, maybe a couple of others. If this reunion goes down I think they are likely for Outside Lands too. I'd love to see Roo bring 'em in.
Bobby is fine. Dude was drinking too much and taking a lot of muscle relaxers plus maybe some pain pills due to a shoulder injury. He was touring constantly for years, and has been resting for months, I'm sure he's good to go. He's also the youngest one of them at 65 or 66.
Phil is obv good as he plays tons of shows all year.
I think they're going to do more shows than people are expecting because of this hetti GD 'fam" who is spilling the beans on the Dead's plans to get attention for the book he is peddling. Besides, outing everything they are planning is a pretty major cockblock as it's their golden road anniversary they should be announcing it.
I'm fine with whatever, but I am realllllly hoping for four nights at Red Rocks.
I thought I had read Phil is only up for 'residencies' from now on though. There's a lot of ways it could go. I hope they do enough shows to keep it from turning into some golden ticket deal.

Yea, there's no way I'm going to NYC to see them. Never been, too much money, too many people after tix etc.
I'll fly to Red Rocks, and I'll fly to Oakland for the NYE they supposedly are doing to go into 2016.
They should really start it out at Wanee though. Wanee 2012 Furthur>ABB x2 was one of the many peaks of my concert career. That second Furthur show after the rainstorm was as good as you are gonna get in this day and age. Truly feel special to have been there for that!!!
This guy first broke the news about The Dead playing Lock'n. He says their plan is to play one or two festivals and some residencies on both coasts. No extensive tour due to insurance costs.

100% heat What a shitshow! I remember looking around that second show thinking, "damn, it is going down here, this is ridiculous". People covered in mud etc. The first night I saw that naked guy with the inverted penis get tazed.
^^ Glad I recollected correctly...yeah, that was amazing. I hope The Dead is as good as Further was...seriously.
Oh, and yeah, regarding that article above, I remember reading that piece where Billy ripped Further and Kladecik...hopefully that is patched up and Kladecik is part of the show/tour.
I gotta wait on that lineup before I can commit to Wanee. I'm sure I'll be there, especially since I missed this year and went the 4 years prior, but still.
Zac Brown is already headlining Tortuga Music Fest in FL the week before. What are they gonna get Kenny Chesney too? Maybe change the name of the fest from Wanee to Lazee?
Lovin' this lineup! Finally a Zappa show at SOSMP!

Yeah, that's pretty damn good. A lot of local stuff from here. I haven't seen Nth Power do any Steely Dan, but that's interesting. I really dig Twiddle (Vermont I think). Their bass player was stand out at the 3 sets we saw at Waka. Galactic, The Word and Zappa plays Zappa cool as well as the headliners.
Yeah, I can get into this lineup. I always love some Galactic, with the Revivalists there as well, I look forward to some Shaw coming on stage with them. ZPZ LN, YES! I would much prefer to drop in on them at night, rather than during the day. Nth power doing SD will be very special! September, Hoping this is how EWF looks in April
