Really wish they'd book Primus at Wanee! At least Bear Creek next year, if not this Wanee.
Still butthurt about missing Wanee this year and the last chances for ABB shows since they didn't do any other Deep South shows (that's fucked up) in 2014. I
Lineup is fantastic and, as was pointed out to me yesterday, no Tedeschi Trucks Band. They are super talented but I just can't get into them. It's like going from Cream to Tears from Heaven era Clapton or something.
So the Zappa show will definitely be on Friday. He's playing B'ham on Thursday and ATL on Saturday.
Hope that doesn't rule out a late night show. He opened for WSMFP at Wakarusa '10, but immediately left after the show. Was really hoping for some collab with Jimmy Herring. Maybe it'll happen at Wanee =)
So, is that it for the lineup? Any chance they add the dead?
I wouldn't hold my breath. It's starting to look dim that Lockn even lands The Dead. If they really have them signed they should go ahead and announce it for people starting to make their festival plans. If Lockn isn't getting them, that Grateful Music site/page is losing all of what little credibility they had.

Both Bama and ATL are 8:00 shows, which I am hoping it leads to him playing a later set.
I would think it would be clearly stated like it is with Mountain Jam, but who knows. I'm sure they'll at the very least play a song from that and stoned side of the mule. It would be nice if they just played a 3-4 hour late night show instead of another fucking afternoon set.
I feel like The Word is definitely getting a late night spot and Warren will sit in fo sho.

The short sets the Gov't Mule get at Wanee piss me off. I guess in the past it made sense. With Warren doing two headliner sets with ABB, he probably didn't want to overextend himself. That won't be a problem in 2015. I'd like to see The Mule headline the Peach Stage on Thursday.
BTW I went to Boston for the Dark Side Of The Mule show and it was amazing and in quadrophonic.
SCC is Wonka themed and we are looking for Oompa Loompas. We are going to meet up Friday the 17th and take on some shows together. TBD. We want enough Oompa Loompas, that Zappa has to ask, "how many Oompas Loompas are there in here tonight?" Plan to Meet at the Wonka Gates before Moon on Friday for details and/or check back here.
Costume guidelines: 1. White baggy pants, knee high 2. White suspenders, with 2 Large Buttons 3. Green Hair 4. Brown Shirt; preferably with white stripes on neck and end of arms 5. Knee High Socks; preferably with stripes 6. White Eyebrows and Orange Face paint are optional and are not required, but they are Highly Encouraged

I just wanna say: (1) I'm incredibly bummed i'm not likely to make Wanee this year. (2) I wish i could be there when a fuckton of oompa loompas descend on whatever show (3) I am sad i will not get some SOSMP in my life and (4) WSMFP will kill it. Merry Wanee to all my peeps who make it.

My sentiments exactly. Except I'd add Galactic is going to kill it closing things down once again on the Mushroom.

You're only making my pain worse. But I'm happy for those who get to see it. Galactic on the Mushroom I've yet to experience.
sidenote: I can't believe the Wanee post was all the way at the bottom of this page, you cretins!
Conscious Alliance will be set up again this year so bring 20 non-perishable food items and you'll get a badass festival print! Guaranteed to be hettier than the official merch!
Nathaniel Deas is doing the print again this year, I can't find a screenshot of it but I have seen it and it's way cooler and trippier than last years print.

last years print is about to be framed as we speak. Again...so jealous. My friends are heading down in the morning. Oh to be following them down on wed.
EWF was on point and sounded amazing. Around us, the crowd was nutz and everyone looked like they were having a great time. Wonka was shaking his ass.
ZPZ Also sounded amazing. Zappa and crew nailed it, but I think it should have been a later/night set. People looked bored and not much body movement. Not saying they were not blowing up on the inside or having a great time, but it was a much different crowd, then what was at EWF. If you were looking for a dance party, ZPZ would leave you feeling disappointed.
Both great sets, but wish LN would have not played both of those bands at the same time. Dumpstaphunk finished strong on Friday night. The Revivalist sounded great on Saturday. Galactic killed it with the closing. And Wonkaland was a huge success. Congrats to the lucky 4 who found and returned a golden ticket. Pics to come:
Great seeing you at ZPZ Scrog! Didn't catch you the rest of the weekend, but visited your camp a few times. Tough keeping up with some many Wanee friends =) Hung out with the Treehuggers throughout the weekend, kept seeing them at the Peach Stage.
ZPZ ain't really dancing music unless you reallyknow the songs anyways. Too many time changes to easily boogie for most people. If you know the songs well it's extra fun shifting around that way though. I agree that ZPZ should have been at night. If he had been after WSMFP, Dweezil would have had everyone's faces by the nuts.
When I left ZPZ I wasn't making any damn sense and was entirely too melted to get into Mule. Bein' in the Oompa costume didn't help much as my buddy and I were nonstop harassed for pics lolololol One of those moments you really wish you had sunglasses, right then.
The Whippin' Post>Muffin Mang to end ZPZ was the highlight of my Wanee. Saw almost all of my Wanee fam, and also made tons of new lifelong friends, you know, the usual.
Weather could not have been more perfect Thurs>Sat, especially considering the forecast last week.
Got my hetti tie dye lot shirt, got the official poster which was super awesome along with the Conscious Alliance poster. The official poster was two alligators driving down I-10 to SOSMFP, with WSMFP on the radio and a big rainbow ahead of them. The print it self was like reptile skin. So cool!
My buddy got the stretched canvas version of the Conscious Alliance print signed by all of WSMFP after the first show for $200, pretty awesome deal, especially for charity.
This was def my favorite Wanee ever, although for me, 2012 had the best music. This year just had the X factor that really makes you reflect on how amazing and magical SOSMP is.

You guys were some rad looking Oompa Loompas. It was great seeing you at ZPZ, 2 random Oompa loompas on the rail, my friend was like, Who are these guys? I told them you worked in another part of the factory. I have learned to set limits on pictures or it can take up your day. ;)Thanks for participating!
