Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I encourage everyone to take the survey posted in your email receipt and in the comment section at the end let them know how you feel about the stark ticket prices increase. I simply said that Roo has always been a steal and an increase is merited, but I just hope that these increases were made predominately with the customer in mind and that we'll see the merits of the increases in the Bonnaroo experience.
AC has earned our money time and time again, but I hope this isn't simply "greed creep" and instead an investment in the festival experience itself.
Maybe it's because I'm a total noob, but it didn't piss me off. I got presale tickets last year too, (my first roo) so it was a $40 increase, and I just didn't think it was that painful. But again...total n00b

Last year was $234.50 presale, and this year is $299.50 presale. That's $65 more! Typically there's only like, a $10 or so price increase per year. What gives, Bonnaroo??
I wouldn't be surprised if this was a matter of reducing capacity while maintaining the same profit margins. It's been getting crazy cramped the past few years.

The "early bird" ticket price this year was $274.50, they were available for the first hour of the presale. After that, Bonnaroo continued to sell tickets at their normal Tier 1 price of $299.50.

Hah, just came back to the thread to correct myself on this. Either way, I hope we get something out of this.

This thought crossed my mind. It's a bit cynical but makes sense if that was the goal. My hope is this means screens on the tents. That's the 1 major improvement that would improve everyone's experience & could justify a $40 increase.
Are the tier 2 tickets at regular rate or are those still considered a presale price? If that's the pre-sale price I would imagine regular tickets are going to start getting into the high 300's possible 400 range w/ a payment plan. Paying under or just over $300 for tickets regardless of lineup doesn't strike me as crazy since it IS Bonnaroo, I'm not only going for the music but the total experience so I don't care if there are only a small hand full of artists I want to see. But if I'm looking at spending close to $400 a ticket the line up is going to become important again in order justify going. I think that would be a bit of a bummer. I don't want to have to think about the value, I just want to buy a ticket and take the ride.
That'll buy a hell of a weekend in Thailand. I bet bansheebeat is going to take them to all the hot spots.
that kind of money here... I'd kill myself within hours.
That kind of money here... I could literally pay rent for hours.
Rabble rabble, things are more expensive than they used to be! That is a sizeable jump, though. I think it increased about $40 between '08 & '13, now it's up about another $40 in a year.
It's likely one of three things: major infrastructure improvements (but 3 mil worth?), 1 or 2 massive headliners (Strolling Bones / Purple One / Roobots), or just plain ol' greed. Or some combo thereof.
FWIW, my Stones tickets were cheaper than Macca tickets last year, so I don't know if that's it, unless there's a big fat exclusivity clause for them in there.
My local McDonald's removed some items from the dollar menu and made them more expensive. I assume they will be using that extra money to get lobster as the menu headliner.
