Wowowowow wish this wasn't a 16 hour drive or super expensive flight away from me. Sufjan Stevens is my absolute number one artist forever and always, and I've missed Bon Iver immensely. Dammit.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I just can't believe they got sufjan to play a festival. that itself is extremely impressive.
I know!!! I saw that and just thought "dammit..." I knew it was crazy to even hold out the tiniest bit of hope that he would do Roo this year, but with that March 31st album coming out and all, I maintained some naive hope anyway.

I'm pissed that there is no way I could make this work with getting time off of work. The weekend before this I return from my 4.5 week long primary vacation. No way people are going to sign up for my time off one week later... This is a fantastic line up though. I'm very jealous of everyone who goes.
I want to go to this soooo effin bad. Anyone from Wisconsin on here? If I make a trip of this is there a bunch of cool stuff to do for the days before/after. Im into outdoorsy shiz and adventure, I'd imagine theres a lot of that up there.

it's about an hour & a half away from minneapolis - there's a shitload of stuff to do here (not that much outdoorsy, though).

oH awesome! I just checked its about a $240 round trip from DC! Im definitely gonna look into it, I'd love to be at a homegrown festival like this where I feel like The National and Bon Iver will be putting on a ridiculous set since they are passionate about the project.
Easily the best top 4 of any festival this year. Bon iver & Sufjan in the same weekend & I finally get to c Spoon. Missed Tallest man on Earth when he was @ Roo & a bunch of smaller bands looking good too. Still think Shaly Knees has most stacked line up, but Bon Iver & Sufjan are deal breakers. Plus camping is a bonus.
My girlfriend and I are seriously considering driving 10.5 hours from northeast Ohio for this, because damn if that isn't the best lineup I've seen this year. For those that live in the area, is there anything you would recommend that we do while we're there to get the most out of the experience?

This line up is almost a dream to me. Festival of the year in my opinion! I'm so excited! I love Justin Vernon so much. I will be driving from Dallas. Anyone know what there is to see on the drive from Texas to Wisconsin?

sorry, but you're in for the most boring drive of your life. :/ I've never done it, but have had several friends drive from south dakota/nebraska/minnesota take road trips to texas and have nothing but awful things to say about the drive. hopefully you find some fun things along the way, though!

I'm sure the worlds largest _______ is always a fun stop.
one big thing I took away - holy crap. michael brown is doing the creative direction at the festival. if you guys saw the national on their last tour - he's the one who designed their show's production - the lighting and the awesome back screen visuals. they talked about him extensively during their stop here because he's local. but that's really, really cool.
I also did not realize dressner was responsible for the dark was the night album. I remember being excited for that because of all the cool artists I was into at the time - that feist & ben gibbard song was my JAM!

That is what I keep hearing ! It will all be worth it though. I just bought my ticket. Will be camping at the Fox campground. Where will you guys be camping?

It's surprising to me that this festival is not getting much hype here on inforoo. It is the best 2015 lineup IMO. Maybe I am just a giant folk head. I was scared it was going to sell out a few hours after they went on sale!

There aren't many WI/MN residents on here. If this was in Knoxville or whatever it'd be getting more action.
Yep. Even with friends I could crash with this is a long haul to make.

for me personally, I don't know if it's worth my money, as literally all of the acts that I want to see I've seen each 2-3 times. and it would require me to take another weekend off from my weekend job in the summer. I would rather take that money and put it toward something where I haven't already seen everything.
granted, it will be a unique experience because I'm sure there will be a lot of collaborations, so who knows. maybe I'll end up there.
I've already got commitments taking up a weekend a month now through June, so Bonnaroo sadly seems less and less likely.
This one's a three hour drive from my home, and should be easier on my schedule and wallet. Eaux Claires might be the one festival I attend this year, if I can scrape up enough disposable income before it sells out.
from the eaux claires facebook: "Thank you for such an amazing response - we are grateful for your support and cannot wait for July. You being a part of it means everything to us. If you're planning on coming, we suggest you book your tickets and travel soon, as demand was higher than expected. We'll join you there..."

I actually have two extra campsites that I bought on accident yesterday. The site was running really slow which caused my chosen campsites to already be taken by the time they made it to my cart. So when I finally got through with two I just checked out quickly, but apparently had some in my cart that said initially weren't available.
So if anyone needs two reserved pines campsites next to each other, let me know. Face + fees.
I keep trying to think of Justin Vernon's friends. I know this is probably too good to be true but St. Vincent has a tour gap July 14- July 26. However the show on the 14th is in Ireland so I feel that makes it less likely. But I had a dream that Annie was telling me that she was going to play and maybe I am a psychic! Maybe Anaïs Mitchell, Kanye West (lol). I keep hoping that maybe another Justin Vernon group will play like Volcano Choir or something but I feel Justin wants the spotlight as far away as possible from him.
Agreed. James Blake? St.Vincent too. Wish Sun Kil Moon wasn't such a dick or he might fit this bill well. Angel Olsen. Bill Callahan. Todd Terje would b cool too.
Going to Pitchfork on Sunday as I'll b on my way back to Buffalo anyways. Run the Jewels, how to dress well, Caribou, Viet Cong & Chance the Rapper. Makes the trip even more exciting!
