The show I just got back from would have been a perfect late night but not this year as thwy arent on the lineup and I dont see them getting added as their draw is very regional.
Shwikus doing a pfunk tribute set followed by Pink Talking Fish.
uhhh you have twenty one pilots on there twice. you also have them playing into gary clark jr's set
Rumor has it they're hosting the Superjam this year.
Ok, wait, so I just commented on your post saying this in the super jam thread. When you say there's a rumor saying that, are you just referring to your own post in the Superjam thread or is there actually any reason (like a source saying it or something) to believe it is happening? You're gonna give me a panic attack posting this around because I hate the idea of this, which is obvious if you read my post responding to you in the other thread. Btw, I wanna go ahead and apologize for probably come off as a huge dick in my response in the super jam thread, I just really can't express how pissed I'll be if they do this. It would just be disrespectful to all the amazing ones they've done in the past (skrillex was already pushing it enough, though I'll say he did it justice.)

You're better than this Fore
I appreciate your vote of confidence. I simply had a moment of weakness because he made me have a panic attack talking about that damn superjam. Forgive me, I appreciate you maintaining your expectations of me. (It is quite touching to have you consider me above anything in this wild frontier we call "the internet")

I saw the guy do this earlier and I was like, is he really referring to his post in the other thread trololol. That would be horrible though if anything like that happened, I did get worried for a sec and was about to do a google search so don't worry you aren't the only one Fore34
I still think the superjam is gonna come out of left field for better or worse.

Ok ok, I feel a little better now. I mean, it seems obviously false but it would be so awful if it really happened that I started freaking out. I agree, no matter what, the Superjam is gonna be great.
What do you all think of this mock I have for the LN's?
Which 12:30 - Bassnectar till -?? This - Run The Jewels>Atmosphere>Flying Lotus That- Superjam>Medeski.... The Other-Sbtrkt>Tycho
Saturday
Which- Earth wind and Fire>StS9 This-Ben Harper>Childish Gambino That-Slayer>Tears For Fears The Other-Flume>Odesza
I'm still not a believer that Bassnectar plays the Which after (potentially during part of?!?) Deadmau5, but anything is possible. RTJ>Atmosphere>FlyLo would need to start pretty early to get them all in (or have short sets, which I wouldn't be a fan of). I'd guess 2 and not 3 in a row there. I didn't consider Earth Wind and Fire for a LN Which spot, but again anything is possible. Personally I think if they're LN, they'd be in a tent though. But if you switch Childish Gambino with EW&F then Saturday looks plausible (and quite fun).

I know Bassheads and mau5 heads differ, but I really think that Kendrick>Deadmau5 is going to be Saturday, and Mumford is Friday. I know everyone is saying they would kick it off, but in 2013 Paul McCartney did open the fest as a headliner. So who really knows. I also don't think Bassnectar and Mau5 would play the same night, even if it is a possibility that it could happen.
I know Ben Harper has played LN in the past, but this choice honestly doesn't make sense to me. Could someone enlighten me as to why Ben Harper should get LN (honestly, I'd like to know because I'm clearly missing something), when there are sooo many great potential LN acts this year?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I'm right there with you ^ I would assume if they gave Ben Harper LN it would only be because he's played it before so they can rely on him to hold down the spot easily and also he would provide diversity to the list of genres going on in that time slot. That's only my guess though. I really don't know if it actually makes that much sense for him to play LN again IMO

I do get that line of logic...but let's look at HOW many good potential LN acts there are this year: Flume, STS9, FlyLo, Caribou (I know they're playing Sunday - still, feel like I should list them out of respect because they SHOULD'VE gotten late night), either Childish or Atmosphere (won't be both), Run the Jewels, SBTRKT, obviously Bassnectar, Odesza, probably a Metal tent, Tycho, Jamie XX, the list goes on... Why give Ben Harper one of those slots?

And hey I agree with you 100% But we have to ask ourselves, did it make sense to rob Washed Out of a late night slot last year or how they cheated SBTRKT to an afternoon slot in 2012. Ssometimes Bonnaroo just likes to mess with us when it comes to late night. (Speaking of, seriously what happened with Caribou!?)

Oh, please do enlighten me why Childish and Atmosphere couldn't possibly get LN shows on different nights?

The good news though is that because they cheated SBTRKT out of it in 2012, they gotta give them LN this year. I don't want to miss that show. Actually listening to them as I type this haha. I'm so upset about Caribou on Sunday though...I'm hoping they get a sunset slot, but I'm really worried about conflicts. :/

I just personally think that one of the two will get LN, while the other gets a daytime What or the Wiz Khalifa Which closer spot. Each to their own, thats how I feel it will play out.

No, I agree you're probably right. I was simply wondering why you automatically assume it's impossible

I was initially disappointed that Caribou was on Sunday, but I've come to actually like it. There are (potentially) going to be so many LN conflicts for me this year, nice to eliminate one off the bat. And as long as Caribou gets a closing tent on Sunday, I can't think of a better way to end my 'roo.

Yeah, if they close a tent, that will be amazing. What if they dump Caribou with a 3pm spot or some ridiculous bullshit though... I don't even want to think about that possibility.

Because you need diversity. Of the acts you listed (aside from the metal tent) there's not one mention of a true rock act. And believe it or not some people like hearing guitars even after midnight.

The only reason the SBTRKT scheduling was so baffling in 2012 was bc of the wasted LN sets that went to acts like Unchained and Pedrito. However, his set was still ggreat despite the sun being out. He held that day time set down without a hiccup, as did Four Tet a year later.

Oh, I get that. And personally, I love Ben Harper (I even love music with guitars!!!!), but he is suchhhh chill in the afternoon kind of tuneage to me. As I said, each to their own! I just don't see sense in it myself. I certainly think a couple rock acts will get LNs, but do you consider Ben Harper "true rock?"

Anyone who is under the impression that Ben Harper is an afternoon chill out artist should really reset their expectations. This guy can shred his slide guitar, and brings a lot off passion and energy to the stage.

Okay, that video is amazing. I've only really just listened to Ben Harper on track, as nice background music to doing work or something. You have changed my perception of what it would be like to see him live. Two thumbs up.

There are two sides to ben harper. Check out love from mars to see what I mean. One disc is his slow pretty ballad stuff and the other is jam stuff. Hell he was the "jimmy page" of the zeppelin superjam with ?uestlove and JPJ
