Yeah, the fact that they're RTJ is Friday makes them even more likely to get a LN because the slot that they would get otherwise would most likely conflict with Kendrick and bonnaroo wouldn't wanna do that with two rap acts that are so popular

That's what I'm thinking as well, extremely unlikely that RTJ and Kendrick conflict. And I so totally wanted RTJ to be right after Mumford dammit.
Which - MMJ This - Atomic Bomb / M,S,M and W That - Run The Jewels / Tyco Other - SBTRKT/ STS9
LN Sat :
Which - Bassnectar This - SuperJam / Slayer That : Flume/ Grammatik Other : Atmosphere / Fly Lo
Move either msmw or sts9 to Saturday and we're good.
Please no. MMJ conflicting with Slayer and/or RTJ would be crisis mode for me.
Also would they have Bassnectar conflicting with Flume? They're the #2 and 3 EDM acts on the lineup, they wouldn't put them at the same time would they?

All this talk of MMJ and RTJ conflicting is killing me. I figure I can catch RTJ at another fest this summer though.. That's the only thing softening the blow.
I may be one of the few who hopes MMJ don't end up with a LN set. 2 hour slot prior to a headliner on What will do.. If that amount of time is possible

If both are LN conflicts, RTJ will probably only play an hour, MMJ will play 3+ so you could catch both

Unfortunately MMJ will not be playing late night. I ran into Tom and Carl in the airport 2 days ago after obh2 and they said they would not be playing late night and that they would be on the what stage. Expect a similar slot like 2011. Sorry for the bad news.

Am I relived? I don't know.. I drunkenly bought 2 tickets for a RTJ show in Montreal the day before Osheaga. It felt like the right thing to do at the time...
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
I'm not following how ticket sales affect the time slots.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to run the Which LN if there aren't enough people there to fill it.
I think most of the acts, if not all, are have a specific stage and time slot well in advance of the festival knowing the total ticket sales. Also, according to wiki, 2012 was the most highly attended year at 100,000.

There's no way wikipedia is right on that. And there are definitely some major acts that sometimes don't know the time, or even the day, they're playing till things shake out. I don't know how common it actually is, but I've heard of it happening (in 2012, actually).

When Jay Z played LN What there was no LN Which that night, and they closed it down for LN Kanye as well. Also I do not think there was a Which show during LN Phish on the What either. It has usually been an either or thing in the past if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure there was someone scheduled on the Which at the same time as Kanye. My memory is failing me though, who was it? I know it was someone ......
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

It was Phil Lesh and others on the tents but keep in mind this was a last minute decision based on the headliner changes. The original schedule had Kanye on Which earlier.

I'm letdown, but thanks for the news. I"m thinking maybe they play What before Mumfords. Could be that Florence gets that spot though. I dunno. I was thinking of actually trying to catch the rail for them this year, but I don't see myself camping out at What all day and missing out on the tent shows. It would have been so easy to wait at Which during one of these headliners. The silver lining for me is that now I'll probably be able to see RTJ and FlyLo late night sets.

I would think time slots are part of the negotiated contract.
