There's rumors that Bear Creek may change it's dates, so there is less conflict with Hulaween. Not sure when the new dates will be or when they will be announced. Anybody out there have any info?
Should be a lot warmer then. The dates conflict with ACL Weekend 1, and that's too far of a drive (16-17 hours) except for anyone with 2 days between sets. I realize there aren't that many crossovers (Lettuce this past year), but it's notable that it's the same weekend.
I agree, but under new management ( so says the rumor and seeing how the dates were moved it might be a lot more than just a rumor) I believe it is going the other direction, which means less funk.

Why does it look like Bear Creek won't continue to be funk oriented? Does it have something to do with new organizers? The earlier dates for the fest were to avoid the more frigid temperatures in November I was hoping.
It was mostly funk last year with the exception of Chris Robinson with Soulive and Umphrey's who fits in fine at any Funk, Jam or Rock show anyway. I found the majority of the 3 days I was there funky. I realize some of the experimental Florida stuff was on Thursday, but that's okay too.

It's always been funky with a lot of R&B, soul and jam peppered in. I think they're suggesting under new mgmt it may stray away from the funk a bit in the future. I hope that's not the case!
I hope it does not lose the funk and i do not think it will completely, I do feel there was less funk this past year, and a lot of Ump. In the future I would not be surprised to see less funk. Daryl, Please prove me wrong!
And we're back! Bear Creek Music & Art Festival will return to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park on a new weekend, moving from mid-November to October 1 – 4, 2015. Hosting Bear Creek earlier in the fall is expected to provide warmer weather for fans. Stay tuned to www.bearcreekmusicfestival.com/ for more updates in the coming weeks! Tickets will go on sale March 30th, 2015!
It'll all come down to the lineup for me. If the lineup is solid, I'll buy in early. Lineup is usually out before Wanee so that always gives plenty of time to setup a payment plan.
Haha, we went after the Saints game last fall to see Funky Meters. Pretty good time. No crowd, had some food trucks out there, etc. I think esteban said he went on Saturday for Big Smo.

My Dad goes most years for a day and is always hyping the sausage etc. Gotta get the shows in with the old mang whenever possible.

Take it for what ever, but my understanding there has been some changes at the top level of this fest. At first I was hesitate for this change, for me I love BC for its funkness. It is why I attend BC! And for some reason I thought with a change in management, we would loose some of the funk. Fast forward to last weekend. If rumors are true and the people who run Aura Fest are the new management for BC, then I have nothing to worry about. Aura was loaded with funk, the Fritz and Motet and The main Squeeze were throwing it down last week. I have no doubts this will be a funky Bear Creek!! Funk Yeah!!!
I hope we hear something soon. Website says tickets go on sale today. Usually we have most of the lineup before Wanee or at least a teaser lineup get's passed out at Wanee like last year. I haven't heard anything yet.
Lineup isn't a huge need for me to buy in to BC this year, but it is kinda tough to get some friends excited enough about it this far out to opt for BC over Hulaween this year.
Sweet. If it's as good as last year, I might just say "F" ACL and go ahead and return to Bear Creek. 3rd alternative was a 2 day STS9 run at Red Rocks. Plus, 2:00pm there is EDT, so we might only be 5 minutes away.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
