I think next year will be tough to predict. We all thought going into this year we thought we'd see a 2014ish mainstream set of headliners. Foo Fighters fit that, but ZBB and Beck? Definitely didn't see that coming. That appeals to an entirely different demographic than 2014.
I would definitely enjoy Coldplay and Mumford. I really like RHCP, but I just believe there are too many good performers out there to keep having repeats. Also believe we are a pretty alumni heavy festival that would prefer to see someone new. I realize I like the classic rockers so I would love to see Santana, John Cougar Mellencamp, Eric Clapton before we are in wheel chairs. There are also a lot of new performers that deserve a headline. I don't think we have had our first female headliner yet. That would be different.

Agreed Bob. I love RHCP but I definitely wouldn't mind somebody new. I'd love some Radiohead or Muse on the beach. As far as female headliners go, I'm not a huge Beyonce fan, but that would be a huge get.
Signed in Crimson's lead singer, Arcade Fire's singer, Neko Case, and Grace Potter are all really good female vocalists and might make it to headliners one day. Delta Rae has awesome female vocalists. Heart played at the Kennedy Center...Stairway to Heaven that had Led Zep in tears...man they would be awesome as a Sunday closer.
I've said it once and say it again...waaay too many outstanding performers out there to repeat folks at the beach. Having said that, I could listen to Chris Cornell, Jason Isbell, Amos Lee and Old Crow Medicine Show for hours and still want more.
I agree that there are too many bands to have repeats but TWO headliners this year are repeats. I think that makes it MORE likely that we have future repeats than less likely. At the least we know that Hangout is OK with it.

Well a lot of the GV HO partnership to me read like HOF wanted it in order to get access to larger acts that have been out of heir reach for whatever reasons. That being said.

2016 Hangout is a maybe. It's been a good 3 year run, and this year should be fun too. They deliver a good product, and it's in my proverbial backyard. But there are too many festivals catering to music I like more than Hangout generally does.. It might only be this year, but there isn't that much to challenge the serious listener, and too many of the acts are, to me, accessible. I'm not a giant fan of south Baldwin County as compared to Mobile or the beaches as compared to most of those on the FL Panhandle. I understand the lure of the total vacation weekend package. So I'm certainly not going to hate or rain on anyone's parade. I'll probably get an alumni presale ticket on Sunday just to have it and figure shit out later. I'd like to get to E Forest, Lock'n and some other random shit like Levitation, Fun Fun Fun, Jam Cruise, NC Rebellion and whatever. It's a big world. At this point, i'm 50/50 on attending. The lineup will have a lot to do with Whether or not I go back.
