No offense, but I really hope insurance covered Sam Smith's cancellation and that he's not on the bill next year. There are just so many more artists that can fill that genre's spot that I'd rather see.
agreed but i just see it coming.
I think he will be back, but not next year. Probably 2017 if I had to guess.
Green Day = 3rd or 4th generation punk which never did much for me. There was plenty of realer and harder shit at that point.
As for 21 Pilots, I left 2 of their shows so far. I just don't see anything to them. Unless some random encounter changes my mind, I'll put them in the Chromeo category and skip them whenever I'm somewhere they are playing.

My desire to see them is mainly a result of growing up mainly in the 90s and enjoying their early singles, and having seen so many bands at this point that I like to see stuff I've never seen. I mean, I don't listen to them now and I probably wouldn't care to see them more than once. But their playing one festival once would be an improvement over bands that play every festival every year, in my opinion.

I'm not completely hating, and I realize they have their place in the early/mid-90's era. I'd probably watch a few songs from the back if they were on a bill, but I can't say I was disappointed in 2012 when Billie Joe went into rehab and we got Metallica as a replacement. \m/
Surprised names like Green Day haven't been mentioned in here.
Everyone here hates them for some reason. I've never seen them so I would be excited to see Green Day.
I have no problem with them either and I would be cool with seeing them too. They haven't really done much lately musically but they still put on a fantastic live show from what I understand. They fit the Hangout demo perfectly.

Green Day was my first concert back in 95 at the Niagara Falls Convention center. Wouldn't mind seeing them again for nostalgia sake. Wouldn't mind Saint Motel being added and 21 pilots blew me away at hangout than I saw them again at a really small venue, 1200people, and they blew my socks off again. Crazy light show.
On a greater note, My Morning Jacket front of stage tickets tonight with 90% of my hangout crew. Tomorrow is gonna be a rough one!!

Green Day was also my first show without a parent. I'd be down for them. And I'll be at MMJ tonight too. Just have GA tickets but hopefully end up front of stage as I'm going with the guy who hooked me up at Panic.

If we're throwing out 90's wanna sees, add these guys to the list:
Garbage No Doubt Cake Lenny Kravitz Alanis Morrisette The Cure (YES!) Snoop Dog Ozzie The Wallflowers
Edit: For those of you that know me you know that being alive and/or breathing isn't a prerequisite to make my lists. I almost add Michael Jackson, but it seemed a little off the wall even for me...

I would love some Cake. Takes me right back to college (Class of '99 - don't judge!). And I would die and go to Heaven if The Cure graced Gulf Shores!

I was the same way. I don't know what it is but this one got me.
