Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If we're throwing out 90's wanna sees, add these guys to the list:
Garbage No Doubt Cake Lenny Kravitz Alanis Morrisette The Cure (YES!) Snoop Dog Ozzie The Wallflowers
Edit: For those of you that know me you know that being alive and/or breathing isn't a prerequisite to make my lists. I almost add Michael Jackson, but it seemed a little off the wall even for me...
I would love some Cake. Takes me right back to college (Class of '99 - don't judge!). And I would die and go to Heaven if The Cure graced Gulf Shores!
Me too. I first ran into Cake at Bayfest and fell in love. If I'm not mistaken, it was Bayfest's first year.
WOAH I post on the festival boards for numerous festivals but clicking that linked unintentionally took me places I never want to go back to. Or maybe that's the IPAS as I sit outside of Newport waiting for Newport Folk Fest tomorrow.

It's a shame R.E.M. broke up because Hangout is right up their alley.
Didn't break up, just stopped...but I would be overjoyed if they 'Begin the Begin' again...America's greatest musical export...great band for you gen y's and millenials to deep dive into...and for the older peeps that fell off when the radio hits fell away, the only bad late era album is 'around the sun'...all the others are highly enjoyable.
Moten, DJjazzy...do the Sadies get any airplay up there? I have an older album of theirs, but saw them for the first time in Vancouver this past weekend....great show with the music going all over the place.
There is no doubt whatsoever that Hangout Festival (aka THE Hangout) is overrated on Inforoo. But when speaking of other festivals, so is Shaky Knees, Bonnaroo and Coachella. To be fair, some artists love Coachella, I wouldn't even go. Bonnaroo? I've been twice. It's whatever. I may go back some day, I may not. Hangout? Most people on here act like it's the greatest thing ever. I mean Krisplettuce practically gets tears in his eyes if there isn't a post every hour. And well Zen Arcade has done about 15 lineups, and we still have about 10 months to go before next year's festival. I mean shit, I'll be there too, but for this thread to have 40 pages already, you'd think it really was all that.
As a caveat - the only one of the festivals mentioned I plan on going back to is, well, uh, Hangout. And y'all know I'm not the biggest fan of the fest and don't really care about the setting on the beach since I go all the time anyway. But let's be fair in the interest of full disclosure.
The main other thing I find overrated on Inforoo is 5-10% of posters opinions of themselves. Some people are so snarly and arrogant that you just know they're crutched in some other way to feel so e-important.

Hahaha. Word. I'd be completely okay with this as the top and could very easily find enough stuff to see. I'm assuming you realize I wasn't hating and just making the observation circa T-10 Months. Do keep them coming.

Props, man. I would kill to see R.E.M. on the beach.

IMHO, HOF has seen better days. But what other thread do you know that has posters who log in on a regular basis to keep up with people they've met through the thread or at the festival and become friends with? Granted, at this point posting lineups is just a way to get the conversation going on who we're all drooling over at the moment, but there are also posts and reviews about other shows people have gone to which is really cool. I respect the musical opinions of a lot of people who post here and you guys have got me checking out (and liking) artists that I would have never have run across on my own. Hangout may not be all that, but the fact that it's brought this many cool wacko's together to wish'n'bitch is.

Agreed. I'll plead guilty to a partial friendly troll job including some partial self-parody.. It having seen better days is interesting though. I Probably said it 5 times already that 2015s version was my least overall favorite lineup but my most fun Hangout so far. I've never been shy about admitting that I have tried to find reasons to hate on it, but I always have such a ball that when Sunday comes along, I buy that alumni ticket. 2016 will be my 5th straight year which I think a string of French Quarter Festivals going back a few years and Voodoo Fest would be the only festivals I have been to more times in a row.

"I liked it here once," the aging rockstar lamented as he gazed out at the Gulf across the mass of delusional hippies and teenagers, the wind whipping his hair across his forlorn face.

I made the "better days" comment in reference to the atmosphere and "ease" of the fest, not the lineups. This past year was one of the best as far as lineups for me. But having been to all of them I can compare the crowds from one year to the other, and the hippy vibe that I loved so much is almost non-existant now compared to the first few years.
I like Hangout. Had ups and downs not. Meeting Chick, the purple house, trying to support fellow hangouters, guitar by the pool with krisp, Kim, Scott, and Sarah as well as the supporting cast in the pool and oh..the spiked watermelon...man...that was fun. Next year we will get it better together. Heck, maybe by 2020 we will all just party all HOMF weekend at the pool.
Listening to John Belushi and Akyroyd singing Soul Man on my deck tonight. I like all kinds of music if it has a dance beat or good story. Got my 2016 tix and really don't care who they put on the lineup. And I do not get shrimp, sand and the vibe here so dynamite vacation.

I hear ya. On the inverse, it seems like the police have sort of eased up every year that I've gone so even though the crowd isn't as hippie or jammy as it has been in the past, I feel like that's worked to sort of chill the edge down. I hope they continue to lean more toward non-interference as long as mfs aren't getting out of hand like the flakka guy at Wakarusa STS9 1st set or that bunghole at E Forest that jumped on stage and intentionally knocked over some of Zoogma's equipment.
I hear ya Solidrock...REM one of my favorites. I would love to see them on the beach. Ditto David Gilmore (sp?) playing Pink Floyd. Still hoping HOMF signs Vintage Trouble and they actually show up. Bruno Mars or Ed Sheeran would also have the crowd dancing in the sand.

Quick straw poll. If we could get a major act, let's say Sir Paul, but it meant some cuts, so they would need to get rid of the pre-party. Would you rather have Sir Paul and no pre-party, or pre-party and three general headliners?
I say Paul because I think Coachella might get him and with Goldenvoice having both fests and him playing Firefly last year, GV might go for the trifecta.
And if not Paul, who would be an act you'd give the pre-party up for?
Roger Waters backed by My Morning Jacket with Sara Watkins, Amy Helm and Jess and Holly from Lucious was fantastic at Newport Folk Fest. I would watch Roger over and over.
Loved Joe Pug but probably not a Hangout candidate.
Elephant Rival was great and I could see them playing Hangout. Tallest Man on Earth was good and he could be a candidate as well.
I didn't see a band I didn't like all day. Beautiful location. Well run fest. Small and very, very laid back but the collaborations are amazing and happen every set. The Lone Bellow had Sara Watkins, Jess and Holly and Leon Bridges all up at different times during their set.
Started to rain during MMJ so they cut their set about 10 minutes short and rushed Roger on. Rained about half his set then cleared up. Roger ended with everyone previously mentioned on stage singing Dylan's Forever Young. It was perfect.
