I would sell my tickets if this were the lineup....
I wonder if the Dead & Company is on the table for Hangout. The reason I say that is because it would be kind of special and unique, but I'm also really surprised Hangout hasn't booked Mayer in some capacity. Right in there bubble gum wheelhouse.

Ah man. We'd miss you Bob. I thought you'd enjoy Bruce, The Dead-lite, Oysterhead, Dr. John, and Old Crow. I'll put in a call and see if I can get some more Bob-esque bands added to my mock additions and my mock pre-party.
Collabs collabs collabs. I hope Prez Hall has a residency agreement and they always come back to mix it up. Dave came out w ZBB, everybody came out with PHJB. Lupe + Umph. Am I missing any?
What can we expect next year? Realistically and fantasy collab?

Of course you would.
This lineup would be badass for Hangout. I'd actually go back all three days if this was the case.
Need a NOLA Dead & Company run this fall or for NYE. =)

I would miss ya'll too! I have seen Springsteen several times. Not a Green Day fan. Dead-lite? Who is that? The dead without Garcia? I think that is a reach, but that would be my first keeper on your lineup. Not a Lorde fan. Calvin Harris would be a boom boom headliner so not for me. Seen John Mayer several times with my little nieces and so when he was a teenie...nope. Vampire weekend...nope. Nicki Minaj...definitely not. Oysterhead...probably not.
So the best performer you put up besides a Dead performance that is half dead would be Dr John and he is just too old to do Jumping Jack Flash anymore. I would be front row for OCMS! Definitely up for Jimmy Cliff. Maybe someone else down the card.
I got that most of the inforoo crowd is for the type music in your set-list. I would hope at least 1/3 of the lineup would be your call. 1/3 Zaj/Zen and 1/3 my kinda music. That has been what has made HOF so much fun and entertaining as well as providing some time for the pool. A little of bit of everything. I just wouldn't go down to the beach/festival for the lineup you proposed.
I agree. 2016 will be our fifth run for hangout and I've come to the conclusion that this will be our staple festival every year. Even when I'm not stoked on the lineup at first, I always have a ball. Just a great atmosphere to be in and listen to great bands. Sure they don't always have the most cutting edge lineup or the biggest names but I feel they are always unique. It's the only fest I go to and call a vacation as well.
exactly! i was pretty down on this years lineup compared to the last 2 (absolutely loved 2014) but it still found plenty of new acts I came to love like Griz, St. Lucia, The Suffers to name a few. Like you said it pairs as a vacation to with the beach and all and its really impossible not to have fun.

Agree that this festival and days before and after are special. Everytime I make some insane comment about bailing, I eat the words less than an hour later. I really like Matt's undercard. Just would replace about 50% of the top two lines. They put in a wedding chapel. Maybe they will consider a funeral home and bury all us old rockers in the beach. Hearing Sarge chime in made my day LOL!
Sturgill Simpson is having a good ride up.....he came through here last October and played Terminal West, 600 seat capacity, $20....coming through this October and playing 2 nights at the Tabernacle, 2600 seats, $40.
As for Dead & Co., I think they have the potential to be even better than the FareTheeWell band....I wish Phil would have just kept Further going, but oh well.
Phish played Nashville the other night at the new Ascend Amphitheater. My friend, Travis Bolan, you will be hearing from this one, is playing at Skully's tonight in Nashville. Forty-five minute set at 9:00. I think Chris Cornell sold out as did Jason Isbell in Nashville for their fall shows. Gary Clark is coming to the Chattanooga Tivoli in February for cheap tickets on sale today. I was not impressed with the sound in Tivoli. I think they are planning some major renovations to try and fix the sound.
I am hoping TTB will release new album and sign on the HOMF as a pre-headliner next year. They are getting bigger shows and lineup positions as well as playing festivals all over the world. They played new music at last couple shows. Also hoping Vintage Trouble will make it next year. Guess we will just have to wait and see which direction the new booking company is going to go with the lineup. Gotta a feeling that the powers to be (Saul?) have a big say in the performers and want to see a variety of headliners to keep us over 50 attendees coming back and booking condos. Tom, KOL, ZBB, Jack White, were all kinda southern rockers. Stevie, John Legend, DMB, Paul Simon were all kinda smooth and older folks kinda sounds. Not sure Bruce, Green Day and Dead-lite cover the same territory. Looking forward to....geez...like a lineup announcement that is months away.
I really wouldn't expect that top 3 to be close to accurate with no modern headliner in there. Is Green Day a headliner at this point?
I'm sure you're right. I've done two mocks back to back with no overlapping acts. I doubt any of them end up being close. It's basically just impossible to tell.
Green Day? Oh yeah. For sure. They are comparable to Foo, The Killers, KOL, etc.

Going to be seeing Sturgill in October at Town Ballroom. Looking forward to it. Have heard a lot of hype. I do disagree on the Dead & Company being better than the Fare Thee Well band. The only plus is you won't get as much Phil singing. These days he should stick to just Box of Rain. Otiel will be fine on bass but I have watched pretty much every clip of Mayer Dead video that I can find and just can't get into it. I'm sure the guys will give him a little more guidance in these rehearsals but his Going Down the Road Feeling bad is pretty much the only acceptable cover I have seen him do even including the Late Night stuff with Bobby or the recent Phil and Friends sit ins. That being said, I'm still going to hit every show I can.

Saw Tedeschi Trucks on Tuesday and it was a great show. Better than when I saw them at Peach last year I don't know if they have enough recognizable material to the average music fan to be a pre-headliner at a major fest. They're usually second or third line even at the "hippy" festivals. They're fourth on their night alone of Lockn' this year which would equate to 10th or so on the poster if you looked at it that way. I think they'd be a good add. Just don't think they would be that high at Hangout.

yea ive been doing the same with mocks just trying to make each one different and random. I cant recall seeing Green Day at any festivals lately so i wasnt sure how they would be billed. I would enjoy them either way especially if Bruce was #1. I think i was right about like 2-3 acts last year in my predictions lol and thats a good thing

...firstly, note "potential". Mayer is definitely a vocal improvement over everyone except Hornsby, and that's probably a push. I guess it is a stretch to assume he can elevate a tune like Trey, but if Clapton and the 'Core 4' think you're good, I'll give you a shot too. I hope they do a big tour.
I am asking for advice from those who still buy albums...(am I the only one?) My ipod is dying and I really don't know if there are other options. I'm not ready to go to Spotify etc. only. I've got everything I've bought since 1992 on the ipod and I love having it all in the palm. ....??

I guess we disagree. I hate Mayers voice on Dead tunes. He sounds drunk, sleepy and mushy-mouthed/strained. I bet it ends up being a 8-10 show fall tour al la Ratdog tours. Bobby even said its getting late to start scheduling.
if you still have everything on your iTunes you should be good if you get a new one. The only reason I have an iPhone is so i can combine it with my music. You can purchase their music cloud service for like 25$ to store all your music as well if you dont have everything saved already so you can transfer it

I have been keeping up with them on their world tours and recent shows. They have played with a lot of folks and play a lot of their material as well as covers. They played "Don't Think Twice It's Allright" in Chattanooga. Since pre-headliners only have about an hour and a half, I'm sure they could play the pre-closer on Chevy-Surf-East beach stage. Give "Everybody's Talkin" their double live album a listen sometime...wow! You have to remember they were three or four albums into their careers before they got hitched and playing together.
