whats the word on the wm i keep hearing about? how close to roo? what exit? i have a buddy from VA i need to meet up with b4 we go in to roo. is it a good meeting point? ???
well if your going in on bushy branch road its perfect. follow those directions to roo and you wont be able to miss the walmart. but if you go in bushy branch your going to have a walk to centeroo. there is also a little pre party there in the days leading up to roo. the walmart is kind enough to let people stay in their lot if the are early to roo. from dayton the best way is to take 75 all the way to tn. then jump on 24 west. and use the temporary roo exit. 112 i think, but you cant miss the line. thats how we go from toledo anyways. works great for us although there are quicker ways. but we have had great spots using the 24 west roo exit that should be an easy way to come from virgina too. i would pick an exit off of 24 somewhere before roo and meet at a mcdonalds or something. if you have cell phones it should be easy.
thanks dude! is that better than taking 71-65-24? what would be my drive time if i go your way?
I was planning on 75-71-65 into TN.....looks like you avoid going through the mountains, that way. With the 75 all-the-way route, it looks like you have to go further south, then backtrack to Manchester (or take some backcountry roads through God-knows what).
Wal mart appears to be just South of the Roo, on State Route 41, off Interstate 24. (At least, that is what Google Maps is showing!)
thanks runner! that is exactly what i was wondering about; the way to go. where in SW ohio are you from? im from fairborn. herd of wright state or wright patterson air force base? im not too far from those things. what time do you plan on leaving? whats a good time to leave?
thanks dude! is that better than taking 71-65-24? what would be my drive time if i go your way?
it will be a couple hours quicker for you to take 71 to 65. takes you right through nashvegas and straight to manchester.
thanks broseph. i've been doing some checking on mapquest and that seems about right. might have to take a 1 1/2 hr side trip to meet a friend from va. cookeville seems to be a good point and then take cookeville to manchester about 1 1/2 hrs. we'll see.

Holy crap dani rene, i'm pretty sure you're the first person i've ever met who has not seen a walmart. I greatly enjoyed hangin out in the parking lot at the wallyworld by roo. We got there just after midnight wed night/thurs morning and stayed till around 7 before getting into roo traffic. It was a big huge party, we met quite a few people, we had a tarp on the ground by our car and were playing cards, just chillin. Then we actually did manage to sleep for a few hours in the car before we left
The only fights I have seen at Bonnaroo happened there. the past 2 years. Not exactly the chillest scene but fun to witness.
You saw a fight happen? I am actually kinda shocked by that. I wouldnt have thought anyone would be willing to figt at Roo and/or outside of it
Yea it was so stupid and lame. It was some rival disco bis kids. It was a bunch of them actually. Most selling wolf tickets but then some actually started throwing down.

walmart is the craziest place ive seen except for bonnaroo on the ride there... im going to pick up booze before TN this time tho... was kinda crazy going to that place
they know about roo. i went there in 04 and they had massive piles of camping stuff and things like sunblock, water, snacks, etc.... they prepare for it. they were sold out of frisbees and hacky sacks. that sucked as we forgot ours. but someone gave us a jesus frisbee on the way in so it worked out.

OK, To the original poster, you are getting some bad information here. We are are NOT off 65, we are off 24. Interstate 24 splits right through our lovely little town here and the roo is basically right off the side of the interstate.
There is a special, temporary exit on 24 that is only open for roo, it is 112. The wall mart is located just past this exit at 114 (if you coming form Nashville). When you get off 114, take a left over the interstate bridge and wall mart is just down there on your right.
It is a super center and it is open 24/7.
I didnt notice anywhere in any of the posts that mentioned 24,they all said 65, so I figured you better be informed of that. Interstate 24...Word!
edit: Oops I just saw dudes first post where he told you to take 24 off of 75, my bad. There was a post back there that said 65 would take you straight to manchester...thats what I saw....
