i remember the weeknd cancelling the day he was supposed to play in 2012, i was going to see him with some friends, he still even did his show at stubbs or the music hall or whatever the night before. he owes it to acl to come back now!
Metallica-Foo Fighters-Mumford & Sons-Florence & The Machine-The Weeknd-Bjork That's my final guess
I would be totally fine with this.
I just woke up from a dream where the line up came out and I was discussing it with my mom and explaining why I was going to go since I will be living in Austin, despite having no money. Apparently I have festi fever so bad I'm literally dreaming about line up releases. I remember Metallica, Muse, Bruno Mars, Drake, Florence, Mumford,Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, some random made up Liam Gallagher project convincing myself an Oasis reunion would happen, The Black Lips, Alabama Shakes and Billy Idol... I was most excited for Bruno Mars.
Honestly, replace Drake with The Weeknd from my dream and I'd be a fairly happy camper.
I wonder who the "electronic" acts will be. I feel like we haven't really discussed that except for Deadmau5 & Bassnectar, both of whom I could do without. Girl Talk is always fun. DJ Snake's Coachella set looked sick. Panda Bear would eliminate a conflict for me. Tycho and/or Odesza would be nice. I bet Sylvan Esso will be there. I feel like they're everywhere this year, which isn't a bad thing since they're great. I'd like to see Purity Ring pop up. Tama Impala would be awesome... I'm tired and drawing a blank on others

Well, either deadmau5 or Bassnectar will be edm headliners, and you can add Alesso, Dillon Francis, and maybe some Martin Garrix and Madeon to that.
So Hozier is officially at Austin City Limits after canceling last year. I think that's the first act to confirm. Lineup coming soon!

Foo's just added european shows in november, and postponed an anaheim show until the middle of october, increasing the odds of them having some more unannounced US dates for october, probably being held up by the acl lineup announcement.
Blur anyone? They just announced some Aussie tour dates for end of July, seem to be ramping up to a tour… ACL would be a good fit.
MMJ seems likely, along with Modest Mouse, Decemberists, FJM.
Based on recent interviews with Damon, it doesn't sound like a Blur US tour is very likely. Really bums me out if true, I've always wanted to see them live.
I want to go to ACL this year but i've never been to a non-camping music festival. It'd be too weird.
It honestly is less weird than you think. I felt the same way before Forecastle last year but it was really convenient actually. It's amazing how much more energy and how many shows you can make it to when you've had a good, full nights sleep and a real toilet/ shower.
The one shitty thig is that it's really easy to get lazy and not head in till late. Last year I missed a bunch of shows I wanted to see bc we just were hungover and couldn't get motivated to leave. Didn't get into the fest till like 5pm that day.

Showers and a warm bed would be awesome.
I just have my doubts. I feel like camping and being hot and sticky and waking up feeling miserable is part of the experience. Because when you wake up to music playing, knowing that the band is only just a walking distance away makes it worth it.
