this is the list of headliner possibilities I came up with, assuming 6 headliner spots like usual, in order of billing
Slot 1- Metallica, Paul McCartney, or AC/DC Slot 2- Foo Fighters (lock it in, 100% sure) Slot 3- Kanye, Drake, Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, or Deadmau5 Slot 4- Florence (lock it in, 80% sure) Slot 5- Kendrick, MMJ, The Strokes, The Weeknd, or Robert Plant Slot 6- EDM (Bassnectar? not my cup of tea so it doesn't matter to me anyway), or if they get Deadmau5, then another one of the slot 5 people
the Mumford and Sons video posted makes them very likely for the number 3 slot. Which (to me at least) is very very disappointing. Bleh.
Granted I'd be ok with seeing any of those three I mentioned for the top spot + Foos + MMJ or the Strokes (plz plz plz) as my headliners, that might get me here.

I agree! Except, keep Drake or Kanye in slot 3, put Mumford in slot 4, florence in slot 5, and deadmau5 in slot 6.
In news sure to excite nobody (except maybe those here who have predicted them for the lineup), Mumford and Sons have announced their US tour that ends a month before ACL and has NO Texas (or anywhere around Texas) dates. I suppose they may announce more dates eventually, but that seems likely to suggest ACL is in their future.

I don't know if that means much. Are they ONLY following those artists? I think a bunch of festivals follow artists, whether they have played, want them to play, or the social media person is just a fan.
Well it's obvious they followed all these artists recently too. And we basically know Foo's and Mumsons are playing as well. Bjork would make sense since she headlined in 2007.

Gotcha. I guess only time will tell if it is a clue or not.
Well, besides Bjork if that is the case, I might be out for ACL this year. I just saw FF three times in the last year and a half (plus, got a photo with him and helped him off the stage with a big hug) and I have no desire to see the other two. Plus, just saw Metallica, I could use that $200 for other shows if they are all booked. It will really depend on what else is going on with that lineup and how it compares with Voodoo and Bonnaroo.
Good catch on the twitter followers. Foo Fighters, Broods, Bjork, The Mowgli's, Sheryl Crow, Ryan Adams, Mumford and Kat Edmonson are all recent follows by ACL. They posted on their facebook about Kat a couple days ago as well.

Yikes. I Just saw Foo Fighters at Voodoo and will again at Hangout. Bjork is about the only other name there that interests me and it's more of a curiosity factor because of her eclectic voice and ability to sing in foreign notes and keys. I'm not even sure half the time what she's hitting as I'm not trained in theory and composition. Maybe some are part way between standard western keys (a b c d e f g) and sharps or flats. Sorry to be so ignorant about that stuff, but like I said, she is a curiosity to me.
I was thinking hard about going again, but I might end up returning to Bear Creek instead or just do nothing in October until Voodoo.
Tellin you I still don't bite on the Foos playing ACL this year but hey surprise me.
Well, you never know.... but no Texas dates, recent love of Austin, playing other festivals, and this schedule:
9/30/15 — Wichita, Kan. – INTRUST Bank Arena
10/4/15 — Atlanta, Ga. – Centennial Olympic Park
10/5/15 — Nashville, Tenn. – Bridgestone Arena
10/7/15 — Memphis, Tenn. – FedExForum
I mean... has there ever been a more obvious setup for playing the two weekends? Looks like a lock that they play on Friday 10/2 and Friday 10/9. Which is cool because it means there's a more significant #1 closing Sunday. Metallica maybe. Definitely someone with closing power. Macca, Kanye, hopefully not Drake.

God damn that if that's the lineup this year I'm gonna be pissed if Life Is Beautiful completely drops the ball. That top 3 would be right up my alley.
