Clearly the Superjam plans haven't come to fruition, they just really don't want to announce something like "Superjam! Curated by Widespread Panic"
Oh man, what if they can't figure something out and make it happen?! Will they make it like the old days where the members weren't announced, but they'll just ask around to the farm to ask people if they're down to play?!?! Or will they just cancel the show?
I thought I saw an announcement for the superjam last night that got taken down. I believe it had members of AWOLNATION, Twenty-One Pilots, and Hosier. Phyre Fest, weren't you the one who posted that?

Did you witness the post about this that made me extremely distraught? Haha, fuck you Boner. Honestly though, it's a win/win for me. Either there's a Superjam so amazing it gets me to camp out for it OR I get to see some combination of Slayer/Bassnectar/D'Angelo (which is way more likely)

lol wut. no.
huh, I see. I guess i'd keep my mouth shut too if my press pass depended on it, eh!? Gotta play it cool, i get it, man.
My idea has been to have Roo attendees "DJ" between sets by submitting 30-60 minute playlists. They could announce whose playlist it was and make it a nice little interactive thing.
Back in 2003 they had actual DJs (zomg) playing on the What between sets from the scheduled artists. RJD2, DJ Spooky, Kid Koala, Z-trip and Mixmaster Mike are the ones I can remember offhand. I've never understood why more fests don't do this.
Hey now, let's not make a music festival be all about the music... We need these fuckin' degenerate hippies to go buy more beer and shit.
I say it's 25% chance of super jam info with a 75% chance of some announcement about hammegedon.
Do we expect to see Superjam announcement before the Silent Disco? I sort of figured that's what we'd get today. Maybe full list of food/breweries too?

ha, on the lineup it was listed as "Superjam 2008". Sounds like nothing came together that year so they asked Les Claypool and Eugene Hutz/Gogol Bordello to jam on the spot. I wonder whats going on...

Nah, it was planned prior to the event. The whole night was Tom Waits songs. There was an interview with Eugene Hutz where he said he and Claypool and Kirk Hammett had been hanging out and jamming Tom Waits a month prior to the event. I watched the first half (missed Kirk coming out of course) but it was known before hand what it was, just wasn't officially announced.

Only big things left to announce are the solar stage lineup, the "to be announced" act on saturday at 2:30pm, and the superjam. I care a lot more about one of these things.
Yeah, they announced the John Paul Jones/Ben Harper/?uestlove superjam in 2007 in advance and I think that was the first time. I think that the next announced one was the Dr John/Dan Auerbach one in 2011. They've announced the last few but the Hip Hop one I think was only in the week prior to the festival. (I could be wrong on that timing, though.)
They'll probably announce this Wednesday, though. Maybe they push it until the 13th and announce the Sonic Stage & TBA slot this week.

Incorrect. News of that superjam leaked weeks before the festival, and they had a pretty solid set of Tom Waits covers rehearsed for us. Then Kirk Hammett came out for a few songs, because he used to sell Les weed in high school.
They just used to not announce the superjam lineups before the festival. There was something planned for '09 that fell apart, it was scrapped entirely in '10, and '11 was a forgettable set of Dr. John w/ Dan Auerbach. In '12-'14 they rejiggered it into the curated format, which seems to be working well. It will be interesting to see what comes together this year.

Other than saying Questlove and friends, the 2012 Superjam wasn't outlined prior to the fest. Everybody just had faith that Questlove would deliver. Of course people predicted Prince. But D'Angelo killed it. (Like he'll do again in about 32 days.)

Maybe we just have different definitions of "big things left to announce," but, ahem, FOOOOOOOD TRUUUUUCKSSSS

I hope the last two sentences of this don't mean that the lineup won't be announced...
It's possible. That's been there since they dropped the lineup but it they may not announce it in advance. I am under the impression that they don't really have their shit together this year so them not feeling comfortable enough announcing the superjam wouldn't be a galloping surprise to me. That they are down from two-three in recent years to one is disappointing in and of itself. I fully expect to be underwhelmed by this year's superjam at this point. Expectations: lowered.

Ben Folds is an incredibly talented musician and underrated as a pianist. He'd do a great job. Also, if you get a chance, see his show with YMusic - will blow you away - what a bunch of insanely good musicians. I just saw their set at Town Hall in NY so it frees me up to go elsewhere during Roo, but wow what a show.
