I have a totally, completely unreliable source giving me secondhand info right now saying it's coming out "this week" so I'm assuming tomorrow.
This person gets me accurate info on a lot of other stuff so I'm inclined to believe but I don't blame anyone who doesn't buy in. This person has no direct ties to Roo, has never been, and really doesn't know the Bonnaroo rumor mill like we do. It's the ultimate "know a guy who knows a guy" type scenario.

Considering they emailed out the christmas barn and parade info on tuesday instead of wednesday allows for a slim chance more gets announced tomorrow. But then again they might not even have it booked yet.

I just scrolled over the Christmas Barn stuff and noticed they scheduled a Classic Hip Hop Party that conflicts directly with Freddie Gibbs and Madlib. What the fuck.

Can we just all agree that the superjam will be The New Basement Tapes? I mean come on.. You have everyone on the farm at once, and you fail to throw this together? You can't fool me Bonnaroo.
Edit- And Bob Dylan parachutes in landing on the motherfucking stage.
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!

I was pretty convinced/hopeful until they moved it back to starting right after Mumford's set. He could get there late, but I think it's not very likely unfortunately.

Could Bonnaroo be the only festival with at least a history in the jam circuit to not book a Grateful Dead tribute act/former members for the 50th anniversary? I gotta think that this is going to be some sort of Super Jam related to the dead with hopefully Jim James, Brittany Howard, John Scofield, Ben Harper, Ben Folds on the keys, Jerry Douglas on the dobro, bring in some combo of Bill Kreutzmann/Phil/Bobby to jam it out... (I haven't checked any of these people's availability, and I know people were saying MMJ were taking off directly after their set, but just throwing some wild ideas out there)
Who am I kidding, this is clearly going to be a top 40 superjam with Tove Lo interpreting the songs of Katy Perry.

They didn't always announce it ahead of time. That's more of a recent thing.
I go back and forth on which is better. On the one hand, the early Superjams had the thrill of the unknown, where you'd pack into a tent to see who would show up. On the other hand, it was usually just a bunch of dudes from Umphrey's and Soulive wanking around for a couple hours, so I tend to tip my hat to the modern incarnations which clearly have much more effort and coordination put into them.
Yea, I enjoy the secret Superjams of the past (but only really attended the one in 2006 which was less of a Superjam) and part of me wants to have that mystery back but I also really love knowing at least some details. It makes it easier to plan out what I really want to see. This paid off for me in 2008 when it leaked what the Superjam would be and I knew I would prefer the MMJ full show instead. I love that they have released who is curating it and a few names (but not all) for the past few years and am hoping we get something along those lines again.

Speculation on why the Superjam hasn't been announced yet? Does Ashley Capps have Paul Peck chained in his basement, whipping him every time an artist turns down participating in the Superjam this year?

the delay makes me think it's not a grateful dead themed superjam, because that would be the easiest shit in the world to get together. unless something else fell through and they are currently throwing together said easy as shit to get together grateful dead themed superjam.

the grateful dead were inducted into the Madison Square Garden hall of fame a few days ago, and someone asked Weir about the John Mayer project and his response was "I can't talk about that yet" or something similar. my wishful thinking took that to mean "we gotta wait until it's announced as the superjam at bonnaroo"

Back at the ready to roo party, I was told thAt the SuperJam was in place. Maybe something has happened since that time that is delayed.
Or maybe it's something like the "Almost Greatful" idea that would need to be announced last minute so they don't pull away ticket buyers from the NYC show and stuff.
Maybe not that specifically but something along those lines
