Oh wow. I haven't checked into this thread in awhile. I like this idea of a Grateful Dead themed Super Jam featuring members of the band. I don't know much about this site reporting all of this, but I appreciated the Lockn' tidbits as well.
I think bonnaroo will need some serious additions to pull that off. Makes me excited for Peach where there are some serious players that can get involved already on the bill. Ill still put my chips on The New Basement Tapes in some configuration probably minus Elvis for Roo.

With MMJ > Mumford on Saturday I'm more inclined to see those sets including New Basement Tape collaborations then a full out superjam.
Haven't we had three superjams since 2013? Isn't it possible we can get the Dead superjam and then they announce the third one two weeks before like the Wu Tang one two years ago?

Bonnaroo has no problems in the last couple years outsourcing for people to play the superjam and I don't think it would be hard to find people who would want to be in on this.
Could be for real. It definitely is the right year to do something like that.
This article speculates Schools on bass. I know its just speculation, but Panic's tour conveniently doesn't start until June 16th in New York. Totally possible one or more members of Panic are around the farm for a Superjam.
Phish of course has no plans as well around that time as well.
This a Grateful Dead show could be great, depending on who they brought in to play the show. I still consider NBT to be the frontrunner though.either way, I'm sure I'll be there foe a least part of it no matter what the are Laing or who they're plinth I world

Sounds like pure speculation based on the fact that there's a mystery Superjam at Roo. I'd be down for a Grateful Dead SUperjam but would want to see a bunch of guests rotating so it felt like a superjam.
If Roo were to do a Dead superjam they would miss a huge opportunity for a truly Roo event if they didnt give the reigns to the guys from The National. Or other option would be a Dead Bluegrass Jam. We've all seen jamband guys play Dead stuff. Let's get something unique

It wasn't necessarily bluegrass but I LOVED the acoustic Phil Lesh & Friends set in 2008.
Would love to have members of the Dead come out for Bluegrass Superjam. Play a bunch from American Beauty and I'll be grinning ear to ear.
PS that post kind of implies core-4 involvement. I'm calling BS on that. We have already heard from multiple sources that the Dead turned down offers to play Roo

Yea, that's what made me think pure speculation. Why would the Dead turn down offers to play the festival and then pick up an offer to play the festival in the Superjam slot?
I'm still leaning towards them trying to put together a new basement tapes thing. Mumford, Jim James, and Rhiannon all on the same day with Dawes the day before. Could be a coincidence but could be making it easy on them to all be there.

I took it to mean that one or two members may sit in. Kreutzmann and Hart seem the most likely. Bobby or Phil perhaps, if they feel inclined. I'm skeptical of any articles like this one after that one site made The Dead at Lockn' seem like the contracts had already been signed.

Anyone want to get a t-shirt made for this years superjam?
Superjam 2015: I'm sure I'll be there foe a least part of it no matter what the are Laing or who they're plinth I world
What I love best is how you completely fell apart at the end of the sentence. Like you started out strong, then a small typo, and it looks like you are headed to a successful and comprehensible sentence, and then "Laing" happens. Onwards its just gibberish through plinth world.
all in good fun. if nobody's giving you shit nobody loves you.

I know I am in the minority, but I would much rather have a New Basement Tapes superjam. Dead Superjam will probably just allow me to get closer to whomever is playing the same time (go ahead and crucify me now)
If this is true, it would be unreal...and yes in the past two years the Roo has had three superjams
2013: Wu-tang Hip Hop Superjam, Rock n Soul Dance Party hosted by Jim James, Bluegrass Superjam hosted by Ed Helms
2014: Skrillex & friends, Derek Trucks & Friends, Bluegrass Superjam hosted by Ed Helms
Possible 2015 sets: NBT, Bluegrass Superjam hosted by Ed Helms, and......Grateful Dead Tribute Superjam...
just to clarify, if there were to be a dead superjam it would be one of three....leaving it open for the New Basement Tapes and Bluegrass Superjams to still occur. Not sure why everyone thinks it would cancel out the New Basement Tapes Superjam.
