Jim James + Marcus Mumford curate Bob Dylan Superjam
Close but my bet is on Dylan New Basement tapes curate by either T-Bone or Elvis Costello as Rhianna G and Dawes will be at ROO also.
anything less would bit when they are almost all there
Yeah, we had all agreed on that and the post you quoted was me trying to come up with something a little different. During an AMA the other day, someone asked Jim about doing New Basement Tapes stuff and he was saying they were trying to figure out how they would do it since everyone is on the Farm but the way he said it, it made it sound like they were going to do some New Basement stuff during their set. Just so you know, Elvis Costello won't be at Roo because he's in Europe during Roo.

Sorry if this has been answered, but they do announce superjam artists before the weekend right? Or do we find out when we get there? (Sorry, haven't been to Roo since 08)

They will announce before the weekend, probably in the next couple of weeks. I think way back in the day they used to leave the superjams unannounced.

I'm most likely going to skip Mumford to camp for this if it's good. Like a lot of other people I'm really hoping for Flying Lotus to lead it, but I'm not holding my breath.

FlyLo superjam would be a dream but I'm banking on a new basement tapes superjam or something I could leave early to get a good spot for Dangelo.
In my completely-wishful-thinking scenario, Mumford & Sons join MMJ at the end of the set and they play New Basement Tapes stuff during the gap between MMJ and M&S, and then MMJ leaves and Mumf just continues with their regular set. That way we get more MMJ and the NBT SJ all rolled into one. A guy can dream, right?

What I'm thinking could definitely happen is... Because MMJ's set is already short, they just play their whole set themselves but then Mumford will bring out Jim and Rhiannon and Josh to do basement tapes stuff since Mumford has no time restriction. And then FlyLo can blow my mind with his Trip Hop Superjam and then I'll head over to Nectar for a second before being seduced by D'Angelo

I think the FlyLo would be interesting but his elctronic background seems too much to me like last year and Skrillex. NBT would be cool but not sure how that goes if they only play NBT stuff.
I just read somewhere Chance the Rapper is gonna be involved.
He was supposed to be at the Skrillex superjam last year and didn't show up. I was pretty disappointed considering how great his set was the night before.
I really hope this happens and I don't have my hopes up for nothing now.
I read it on an article wear they broke down every act (before additions) on the list. Had some opinions I agree with but plenty I didn't. They referenced last years set and said he was supposed to have a part in it. I don't know if they had source.
Is this finally the week we get the Superjam info? (probably not)
Probably not but man do I hope so!!! I have really wanted to know the entire time. But, since the schedule drop, I'm really dying to know because that is what my entire LN schedule is depending on right now. I really want the Superjam to be mind blowing so I can get rail for it and have my mind blown but I really wanna see Slayer (and maybe some of Nectar)
Didn't we get the Superjam info much earlier last year? I'm guessing it's been harder to lock down than in years past.
I agree, with there being only one this year, I'm sure it was hard to figure out which direction to go with it due to there being SO many possibilities. Also, I just wanted to throw it out that, because there is one less Superjam than the past two years, if the super jam really ends up being only 1.5 hours, I'm going to be at least somewhat underwhelmed (no matter who shows up.) They really better throw together something amazing since they've only got one LN Superjam

In theory, due to the placement and no artists after them, they could actually play much longer than 1.5 hours. Right? At least one would think.
Don't acts that close out tents usually play past their scheduled time? I'm banking on it so I can catch some acts
Yeah, the closing tent/stage LN acts can theoretically play as late as they want because they don't need to set the stage up for anyone after them until the next afternoon. But, they don't always do that.
So, yes, VieuxCareen, they can play much longer than 1.5 hours and they most likely will cross the scheduled set length, but there's no guarantee that they will. That's why I was saying I'll be super bummed if they really only do the scheduled 1.5 hours, ESPECIALLY since it's the only LN Superjam this year. It's gonna take something truly jaw-dropping to get me to skip slayer/nectar/mau5. I'm gonna continue saying it, a FlyLo trip hop would be possibly the coolest Superjam ever if they got the right people involved. Do some old Portishead and Massive Attack and slowly move through into the acid rap style stuff we have today
it depends on the type of superjam whether it goes past the schedule set time, in my opinion. since it's a group of musicians that don'tusually play together, or are just doing the superjam together, they often don't have an extensive repertoire. At the end of the superjam in 2012 with ?uestlove and d'angelo they were apologizing because the crowd was still cheering, but they didn't know anymore songs. It will really depend on who is involved, i think, whether it goes longer.
When did Bonnaroo announce they were adding the Hip Hop Superjam in 2013? Maybe they could add another one. Or not. Quack it.
It was whenever they made the schedule change that switched Wu-Tang and the XX, which I believe was the week before Roo. Actually, I'm not really sure they even announced it initially, they just added it into the schedule and then they put out a little announcement about the Hip Hop Superjam

I just remember it was really late and I was like, GREAT NOW I HAVE THIS SHIZ TO WORRY ABOUT. Would be cool to see something like that happen again though.

Yeah, it was SUPER last minute. I've wondered why that was and I think it must've just been due to them being really unsure about whether or not they were gonna be able to pull everyone together to make the Superjam happen. Did you go to that Superjam? And, if of, did you stay the ENTIRE time?

I didn't get to catch any of it. I was at ZZ Top getting a spot up front for Animal Collective.
