Wow. They just played princes creep cover from coachella 2008 on the big screen while waiting for LCD. is it okay that I'm tearing up rn?
played it for my wife in the car the other night (she'd never heard it) and we both teared up. then texted it to my friends who reported they teared up. no shame.

saturday feedback
today was a lot more of a chill day for me, decided to get their a little later so that id have enough energy for the whole night. started off with gary clark jr who was awesome as usual. dude always puts together a sick show. then saw run the jewels for the first time. DAMN. those guys are fuckin crazy, and they had some awesome guests. absolutely loved eveytime they talked shit on trump and had graphics of his head exploding. then saw disclosure, who were decent. "when a fire starts to burn" was easily their best song. only bummer was knowing that W1 got some really high profile special guests and W2 didn't. but damn did that change for cube. i really didn't expect Dre to come out, let alone kendrick mother fucking lamar. both of which were fucking fantastic. everyone talks about "that coachella moment when you realize you have to come back every year" for me it was when kendrick performed Alright. holy shit that was the happiest I've ever been. Then for GnR. they still got it. Axls voice sounded great, I'm sure part of it was because he was sitting and wasn't wasting his breath running around, but i still loved what i saw. november rain was fantastic, don't cry was beautiful, and i felt kind of weird being the only person i saw singing chinese democracy songs (i thought it was a decent album). oh, and slash is still a god among men.

I sat there during "Estranged" and thought man, how can they top this, it's immaculate...
There were probably 5-6 songs after that topped it. I was really excited we got the tour debut of Used to Love Her, wasn't expecting that. November Rain, Sweet Child of course, Rocket Queen and Brownstone...that was everything I had hoped for and much, much, much more.
Won't lie, it seems like pretty much every single person I know who attended this year came away with nothing but rave reviews - weekends 1 and 2. Seems like they just completely nailed it this year, top to bottom.
The only exception to this is the art, which a lot of people said was a step down from previous years.

Kinda weird and a little disappointing that Dre performed the exact same songs during both appearances. But just the fact he showed up at all is big and pretty awesome.

I thought it was a step down but not as significant step down as people are saying on Reddit. I thought they were a lot cooler at night with all of the lights but the lack of a Poetic Kinetics seemed to have left a bad taste in people's mouths.
So my gf and i are definitely thinking about doing this next year, and i know this was asked before, but what is an estimate general cost for the fest you all think, saying we get our tickets in advance and get a hotel/airbnb or something in advanced, what would be the range of money we should be looking to put aside per person?

missed my flight back to the east coast so I'm stuck in la another night.
anyways i really did have an amazing time this weekend, after only ever having been to firefly 3x, bunbury, and made in america, this weekend really just blew those out of the water. there were multiple times where i just needed to stop walking and just stare at how gorgeous the view was. everything was so well run, food was delicious, do lab was one of the coolest experiences there, and of course the music was incredible. all around amazing weekend.

Yesterday I really, really enjoyed Girlpool, Kamasi, and the 25 minutes I saw of The Heavy (before heading over to Kamasi).
Already wishing I was back at the polo grounds. Thoughts on dates for next year? Seems like April 7-9, April 14-16 (which includes Easter), and April 21-23 would be the 3 from which to choose.
Edit: And Despacio was really awesome. I was pretty uninspired by the concept when it was first announced but man, that was cool.
