I'm also looking to do Coachella for the first time next year. I had a (maybe dumb) question about sleeping options.
I'd be flying from Kentucky so camping equipment isn't an option. Do shuttle passes cover all the major hotels in the area? Are there cheaper hotels that would require me to find my own transportation or is that a stupid idea?

These are the hotels that the shuttle covers. It might end up being cheaper to get a different hotel and rent a car, but if you book your hotel early - meaning BEFORE they announce the dates (because then prices skyrocket) - they can be pretty affordable.

Gracias. My wife and I are going over options now. We might actually rent a teepee. I didn't see that option before but its a few hundred cheaper than a hotel package and wouldn't require a shuttle pass. Either way, this is the closest we've come to deciding to do the festival. I hope 2016 is the year!

The teepees are cool, do that if you can afford it.
