CoS did a Sasquatch review that ordered the artists from worst to best, and they had the audacity to put Jungle dead last. The reason? They complained that they couldn't tell when one song ended and when another began. Blech.
CoS is not a reliable source. They try to cover their pet projects, and sadly do a terrible job of that. Their 180 on Jack White recently is modern journalism at it's best. Jungle will be awesome! Gramatik is gaining popularity; Mac is awesome, but been there done that!
I will be up front with Papa Smurf if anybody wants to join!

Are you serious? Dead last? I'm sorry but wasn't 21 Pilots there? And some bands that are quite good on track but boring as hell live, namely Real Estate? Ugh CoS annoys me so much sometimes.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I have a hard time understanding that. I've read a lot of publications praising their live show. Maybe they just had an off day or the sound was off. That's always possible for a festival gig.

They probably only played Busy Earnin like 1 time. You can't do that in this post TPAB world we now live in.

What did people think of this show? I was expecting this to be one of the most talked about shows of the weekend, but I haven't heard much. I thought they were great, and the few people I dragged with me to that show still think it was the most fun set of the festival

Def a highlight of the weekend. Surprised more people aren't talking about it, but I think a lot of people called it quits before the closing Thursday night sets. Mac Demarco wasn't too crowded either.
I thought it was tied for best Thurs show with Strand of Oaks and Courtney Barnett.
Definitely the best Thursday show I caught. Would have stayed for the entire set, but my body gave out from not resting for 36+ hours after driving/waiting in line overnight. (Late Thursday sets are always hard - and usually some of the ones I most want to see.) I was impressed with how tight/in sync they sounded. Glad I ended up prioritizing them over Mac.

I couldn't decide between those two so I let my friend choose. He chose Mac Demarco and I have to say I still think it was a great choice. Mac and his band were so interactive and quirky. The "Enter Sandman" encore was really cool too.

It was my toughest conflict. When my feet gave out at Jungle, I went to Mac, sat nearby, and was able to catch Ode to Viceroy and a couple other songs before being totally spent. I still don't regret Jungle, but it looked like the crowd at Mac was loving it. The little banter I heard sounded fun too. I'm hoping both bands will tour near me soon so I can get the full experience at each.
