After looking at Sasquatch Festival I feel we could still get Tame Impala, St Vincent, or Lana Del Ray. Obviously I want Tame Impala again. Lana plays here the tuesday I get back and I don't care for St. Vincent.
I know a lot of peeps aren't big on Lana, but I'd be down for her to play Roo. I'd rather have Lorde of the two, though - hear she puts on a fantastic live show.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Why does anyone think this is anything but just someone having fun with the art of anagramming? The account is random, righT?
yea i more than highly doubt it's anything. i just thought it was funny that the first response from reddit is "does inforoo know anything?"
"But it's also possible that it's a Bonnaroo insider who never had a reddit account and decided to make one to share his/her knowledge with us. We actually have a big discussion about it but can you imagine how ill-received this would be if it was posted on Inforoo? They would have banned their account and locked the thread."

They were both great at ACL. I'd be happier with Lorde though, just because I was kinda far away during her set. I'd like a redo on that one.
I'm inclined to believe ticket sales are down. Not because of the reddit post, but due to the fact that even Bonnaroo seemed to playing damage control before the lineup ever came out by allowing presale tickets to be purchased for a month. That, coupled with overall negativity in regards to the lineup on here and around Nashville.
Not to mention the fact that you could still buy Tier 1 tickets like 2 hours after the onsale started. Usually the cheapest ones are gone in about 5 minutes.

lulz
It never ceases to amaze me how naive people can be on reddit.
You have to imagine sales are down. The landscape has changed so much in the past 5 years. In 2006 (the first year I went), it was Roo & Coachella and that's it in terms of US festivals worth a plane flight. Now there are dozens with very similar lineups. It seems like a stretch that people are going to travel from the coasts for this lineup.

I'm probably missing sarcasm here, but there were less tiers than there have been in previous years. Also, the presale lasted for over a month this time which is far longer than any year previous that I know of.

You're not missing anything. All I know is that when tickets went on sale at 10:00 or whatever the fuck it was, two hours later you could still snag tickets for the exact same price. I don't have a clue as to how many tiers there were.
There's someone on Stubhub trying to sell a GA pass to Bonnaroo for 999.98. I wish I could e-mail him and explain the particulars of market economics. Specifically, how when a festival still has tickets on sale, and those tickets are about $350 after fees, trying to sell a ticket for triple that is probably a pretty bad sales plan.
"Just remember, the last time Roo added a big name to jolt sales...it was Widespread Panic. That audience has left Roo behind. Maybe they upped the offer to the Dead to 5M and they want to do a warm up show. That would be pretty great and give this Roo a historic vibe."
Oh, Reddit. I remember when I had a hopeful outlook for things.

If I'm not mistaken, Bonnaroo has used four tiers of ticket prices the last few years.

I agree it is very unlikely, but if they are down a ton as compared to previous years..maybe they will take more drastic measures.
Okay, I'm not positive on who's actually touring/who's available to be booked but here's a list of lesser known to midsized acts who have had albums come out in the last year that I'd love to see added:

If you list a ticket at a price no one will buy, you get access to various sales/market information. Also, there's always the off chance some idiot will accidentally buy it.
Every morning for the last two weeks I've jumped out of bed and onto the internet to check and see if the additions were somehow announced in the dead of night while I was asleep. It's starting to get unhealthy.

You can get access to that info without actually selling. And ya, occasionally people will buy off stubhub when the event isn't sold out. Sucker born every minute.

It's probably easier to put a bunch of listings up rather than to go through the steps to pretend to make a listing, then cancel out, every time you want to look at sales data. Or is there an easier way?

There's really no set date. It could come out any week between now and May. In 2012, they had several rounds of additions including adding Kenny Rogers like 2 weeks before the fest.
That reddit anonymous person said a big announcement next week. That could be additions. Or they could do comedy first and then do more musicians after.

No that's basically it, although it never struck me as the onerous process you're making it out to be.

Rando from Reddit claims next week, so that must be true!!!! Jump outta bed next week, and you won't be disappointed. #trustinreddit

It might not seem that way, unless you're a no-good scalper trying to manage a few hundred listings. Just sayin'
The Who or Fleetwood Mac - too big to be an addition probably.. and I guess Billy Joel fills the Old White Guy spot already anyway, but either of those names at #4 would make the whole lineup seem stronger (I'm not saying either DESERVE to be 4)
Noel Gallagher - My number one "realistic" want for an addition. I think he would be a more likely add for Forecastle than Roo though. I think he would get booked too low at Bonnaroo for his ego to allow it, where he would be closer to the top at Forecastle. Or at the top, number one, because Sam Smith has one song that he stole from Tom Petty??
Tame Impala - at night preferably
Offspring - I really could care less about them, but they do seem to fit that "wow I didn't even know they still played" / nostalgia act they seem to produce every year
St. Paul and the Broken Bones - anyone who caught them last year agrees, I think they return next year though
