I gotcha, it was just the way you said "I'm not retarded" or something like that, that I thought you were trying to argue. I apologize and I understand thinking that some mid level acts fell through of something of that nature, I'm just not so sure that it has to do with the Superjam. I have one question, where is the super jam being cancelled info coming from?
Same guy that fed me the information about the initial lineup/headliners. He was spot on with everyone but Modest Mouse and Alt-J which makes me think something weird happened and they backed out after being booked... He also gave me the information that Drake didn't want to share a headline spot with Kendrick and thats why Roo didn't book Drake.
Ahhhh, ok so it's a real source. That's bizarre. My dear god, if Isaac Brock and/or Johnny Mar were supposed to be in the Superjam and then something went wrong, that would break my heart. I'm glad Drake refused the deal cause I can't take his music. I actually heard a host on ESPN the other day talking trash on how soft and emotional Drake is, haha. Though, it's be cool if they would've done Drake vs. Kendrick (like they were doing with Drake and Weezy) because it'd be the guy who is #1 in sells and popularity right now versus the guy who is #1 in skill. But I definitely prefer Kendrick solo over having to listen any Drake. I wonder what the deal was with the superjam. The world will never know
No sane person would put Isaac anywhere near the Superjam.
Hahaha, shitfaced Isaac would probably be terrible, but it'd be cool for MM fans. Also, everybody, please ignore the part of my comment about Johnny Mar because I, for some reason, had a flashback to when he played with Modest Mouse, which he hasn't done since '09.)
I'm sorry, but weren't Skrillex, Warpaint, Chance the Rapper, Zedd, and Janelle Monae all announced originally with the Skrillex Superjam last year? Knowing that, missing a bunch of artists could in fact mess up a Superjam if the curator of the Superjam really wanted those acts to make it happen and nothing else. I'm not retarded, I get how it works, I was proposing a different theory.
Edit: I shouldn't have to mention it, but in case you missed it, those artists were booked to perform on the farm as well.
I am not saying how they bill it, they often list as many of the special guests as they can but they leave room for some surprises by by putting something like "and more" or "special guests" But Skrillex's also fits the formula that I explained. Ready? Here we go...
Artist already performing on the Farm that is curating the superjam: Skrillex
Artists not already on the farm that are the core band that play the entire show: the guys from a Big Gigantic, Micky Hart, Thundercat
Artist already performing on the Farm that come out to perform a song or two: Zedd, Janelle Monae, Lauryn Hill, ASAP Ferg, the girls from Warpaint, Chance the Rapper (was supposed to but didn't show)
Random artists that aren't otherwise on the farm that came out for a couple songs: Damian Marley, Robby Kreiger
So, I never called you a retard, simply explained the formula, because despite you saying you know it, you didn't realize it almost always applies. Hell for fun, let's see if it applied to the Derek Trucks a Superjam last year!
Artist already performing on the Farm that is curating the superjam: Derek Trucks
Artists not already on the farm that are the core band that play the entire show: Chaka Khan. David Hidalgo, Willie Weeks, Nigel Hall, Ryan Zoidis, Eric Bloom, Adam Deitch
Artist already performing on the Farm that come out to perform a song or two: Andrew Bird, Susan Tedeschi
Random artists that aren't otherwise on the farm that came out for a couple songs: Karl Denson, Ben Folds

I feel you, man. On another note, success in hip hop used to be about who had the best skill. Now it's devolved into who can sand down rap's rough edges and make their music safe enough for mass consumption. It's bullshit. Kendrick fits Roo's style, Drake doesn't. I'm happy Kendrick's there. I would have been pissed if Drake showed up. But that's just me.

They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.

My apologies is this was already mentioned but it seems that in some instances when people do get it wrong, like in this case, the bands that they miss on are performing at other AC Festivals. Probably more than a coincidence, and the leak just saw that AC was speaking with these bands.

I think Django Django and Future Islands could be added. Their tour dates are open around Roo. Django Django is in NYC only two days before Roo begins, and their next show isn't until like early July. Future Islands have a wknd for GB set, and then their next show isn't until after Roo.
Just saw a tweet that said the lineup for Firefly just leaked....How in the world did they get Paul McCartney, Morrissey, Modest Mouse, Snoop Dogg, Foster the People, Walk the Moon, Matt & Kim, Kid Cudi, and Steve Aoki just to name a few. I was hoping to see at least half of these on Roo's Lineup. The only one I knew we wouldnt get is MaCCA, but man what a bummer. Guess Firefly was the big winner this year. SMH

You're complaining that Roo didn't get Foster the People, Walk the Moon, Matt & Kim, Kid Cudi, and Steve Aoki? Are you serious? And it's Macca, not Mecca. Mecca is the name of a holy city for people of Muslim faith.

Nowhere in my post did I say which ones in particular I wanted the Roo to get. But with that being said, yes i do enjoy Matt and Kim and Walk the Moon. The others I wish Roo would have gotten are Morrissey and Snoop. I'm guessing you haven't seen Matt and Kim or Walk the Moon in concert, or at least not at the roo. Both put on a fantastic and energetic live show, and have new albums out/coming out. As for Foster the People, Kid Cudi, and Steve Aoki they would have made the lineup stronger in my opinion. Calm down buddy, just posting what I saw this morning.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Love how you pick only sections of my comments. Guess you never had to write a paper and actually quote someone properly. Its called taking someone out of context fyi. Anyways, as I said it's just my opinion. Have a pleasant day!

"Only in your mind my very young padawan."
First of all, this was the second leak we have seen so far, nothing is set in stone yet. Until it is up on their website they are merely trying to keep the angry mobs at bay with uninspired ticket giveaways. Nobody who has paid attention believes that Red Frog has handled this situation well. Second, the artists you list don't really signify a big win for Firefly. McCartney is a coup. There is no denying that, but how relevant are the other artists? What about the other leaked headliners KOL and The Killers? Many of these didn't release albums last year and don't plan to release to release one this year. They are all simply names that catch the attention of average music fans.

I agree with your sentiment on KoL and The Killers, that is why I didn't include them in my post. Not saying its the best lineup ever, just that they were able to get some artists highly speculated or on peoples wish list for the roo. I agree though that KoL and Killers are basically flashy names for people who don't keep up on the music world.

That's a nice strawman you're building. I simply picked and commented on sections of your posts that I personally disagree with. I'm not sure how I'm taking anything out of context since you explicitly stated those opinions. Of the names you listed, McCartney and Morrissey are really the only inspiring or impressive gets (maybe throw in Modest Mouse as well). Foster the People has been everywhere the last few years (not to mention their new album was terrible), and Steve Aoki is a joke. The others are decent if not mediocre acts that tour pretty regularly.

Fair enough, we are all entitled to our own opinions. As I said, just relaying the info I saw this morning. Being as this is a bonnaroo thread lets try to be positive. Maybe then new people will come and express their opinions as well. We should embrace discussion, but argumentation for the sake of argumentation is just that. So I offer an olive branch...NowhereMan...with that being said who do you hope they add to the lineup?

Personally, I think the lineup would benefit if they added a handful of undercard acts from the Gov Ball, Sasquatch, and Hangout lineups that appear to be available (Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, Tame Impala, St. Vincent, TV on the Radio, Death From Above 1979, The New Pornographers, Hot Chip, Future Islands, Father John Misty, etc.).

I agree with all of the above. All of those are quality acts, but one in particular would put the lineup over the top. I absolutely love Father John Misty, just got his new album on vinyl and it's incredible. I saw him in '13 on the farm and it was a great show. Along with the names you mentioned I would also love to see Noel Gallagher and the high flying birds and Weezer. I know Weezer is on the downturn (back 9), but man do they have some classic songs.

Also love the "young padawan" intro!
I wanted to keep it fun. Just because we disagree doesn't mean we have to be rude to each other. TBH, I thought you would get eaten alive after seeing your list. You've handled yourself well. For me, when you compare the two lineups directly there is a bunch of stuff in the early to mid level of the Bonnaroo lineup that I wouldn't trade for anyone you mentioned (other than Paul). These include, but are not limited to: Florence, Robert Plant, Childish, Flume, STS9, Flylo, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib.

Last I checked, this was an artist addition thread for BONNAROO. Don't talk about FF, GB, Lolla, Chella on here. Like really? No one has time for that. Strictly Bonnaroo acts that could potentially be added based on your own preference or based on their tour dates.
