Morrissey is literally the only act on that lineup that I haven't seen before that I want to see. But, man oh man, I REALLY want to see him. When I first saw the lineup I was like, "I need to go to this" and then, after a minute, I went back and realized that the only groups I'd really want to see THAT bad that I'm not going to see otherwise this summer are McCartney and Morrissey. Then, I was able to dismiss the "need" to go.

So now that many of the other festivals have announced their lineup/lineup additions/ or day schedules what acts/bands do you think the Roo will add, if any?

Last I checked 23 pages ago many of the lineups had not dropped yet or been completed. I was meaning going forward what are realistic acts/bands that could be added based on current touring, scheduling, and other festival appearances. Thanks for the sarcasm though!

My quick Morrissey story: when Phish got back together for the Hampton shows in 2009, Morrissey was playing in Atlanta the day after the first 3.0 Phish show on 3/6/2009. So rather than go to the whole Phish run, I went to just 3/6/2009, then flew down to Atlanta to meet my then girlfriend/now wife so we could see Moz at the Variety Playhouse. I landed in Atlanta and pulled out my phone and got a message that the show had been cancelled.
Since then I've had a fever with only one prescription.

Man, Mozart is such a fucking kook. He kills me, but man do I love his music. I'm told his live show is amazing

A little sarcasm is good for everyone, ha. I myself have some sarcasm in me. Its one of the qualities that completes people. Without sarcasm where would the world be...

See sarcasm
Bonnaroo could just say they are getting Morrissey without a contract. They'd probably get the same result with a contract. Boost those ticket sales.

I would need 20 acts that I must see to make up for the potential disappointment if Morrissey cancelled.

Yeah, I have a feeling if you are going just for Morrissey then you're going to have a bad time.

Pretty sure Morrissey has actually canceled Atlanta 4 times in a row. After the last cancelation, Criminal Records has a sign posted in the window declaring it a Morrissey Free Zone.
Edit: (1) 2009 cancelation. (4) 2013-2014 Cancelations. So 5 cancelations that I know about. Not sure how it went down between 2009 and 2013.

I'd be an easy audience. So long as he is singing those songs, I wouldn't even care if his voice sucked and his band sucked, so long as he was singing those songs. Marr's guitar work makes me fall into a little pile of quivering people pieces, but so do the lyrics. Some of the best lyrics of any artist ever.
Shit he could play nothing but new stuff I didn't know and then encore with "Everyday Is Like Sunday" and i'd be like "best show of roo 2015 imo".

Another random Morrissey tidbit: if you haven't seen the Coachella documentary, by all means do, its fantastic all the way around, but one of the best parts are the fans leaping on the stage just to try to touch Morrissey. Its mania. Particularly this one bespectacled overweight fellow with tears streaming down his face.
Another random bit from the documentary that I love is when Mos Def is up in the camera's face asking why Coachella hadn't booked the White Stripes. Then they fast forward to the next year.
1) Damien Rice (just dropped an album after disappearing off the face of the planet for 7 years)
2) Fugazi reunion. (I spoke with Guy Picciotto at a political event and he said the band is down to tour )
3) Faith No More (they're on tour again this year)
4) George Clinton and the Parliament Funk (on tour, has a gap in schedule for Roo)
*Genesis, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin, Dianna Ross, Paul Simon, that's all I can think of at the moment.
I would love to see Damien Rice on the farm! He is one of my favorites by far. Also the idea of George Clinton & the Parliament Funk would be an exciting show as well. If I remember correctly Dolly was highly speculated to have reached a deal to be on the farm this year...does anybody else remember this????

They Might Be Giants tour ends on may 31st and they have no TN dates.
TMBG was the first "real" band I liked, if you don't count Garth Brooks, Vanilla Ice, and Green Jello as "real" bands. I still love them, and saw them live in recent years and its such a fun show. So happy to see them playing all the old tunes with the enthusiasm of teenagers. I know they have a devoted following but I still consider them criminally underrated songwriters. They are like Ween but with none of the drugs.
At one point they divided the crowd down the middle and named one side "humans" and one side "apes". They had a contest to see who could chant "humans" or "apes" louder. The apes won, but I think the game is rigged, because its much easier to shout "apes" then to shout "humans".

I just about died when they played "Letterbox", one of my all time favorite songs. "Doctor Worm" was a monster, the crowd went insane. Of course "Ana Ng", jesus, another one of my all time favorite songs, as it is for any Giants fan. The only other time I saw them they also played "Fingertips", which isn't just "Fingertips", its all the secret tracks on 'Apollo 18' back to back.
Ooh I'm gunna go listen to SO MUCH They Might Be Giants now.
